I wish we could hijack the Palhinha deal. Offer Bayern 25 million. Make him captain. Have Sess talk to him about Spurs.

Yes agree. Think it's safe to say we have had a poor transfer window thus far. But pre season has gone well. The players we have look sharp

Think the only way it can be justified is by suggesting that the club have kept most of its squad from last year in tact, and strengthened in GK position, but is using this window to improve on what we already have and is suggesting that is a slower and harder process because we've got a squad that was in and around 7th place for most of the season.

The club has 21 Senior players plus King, so there is not a lot of squad spots available. I think this is more an example of the club being judicious in who it brings in versus the normal haggling.

Risky both ways, but I think I'd be far more disappointed if the club brought in a couple less than impressive players early and missed out on a great opportunity later in the window than the opposite scenario.

This roster as currently constructed is better than last season's without additions. The ceiling isn't high, but the floor is high. I'd prefer the club take several big swings now because they can get filler players at any point in the window.

Interesting he reports its loan with option. That's supposedly what we want with Nelson, Sterling, KDH.

Doesn't appear that there are funds to spend big, but they are being careful.

Try before you buy has always made sense to me wherever possible, long as you can get an option. And id think it's 2 of these 3 when it comes to wingers only , unless Adama departs.

Did we establish if 3 loans was allowed in the end?

Oh for sure, we're not gonna get all the wingers. I imagine two but perhaps one depending on Adama.

Not against try before you buy, but it also kicks the can down the road is the flipside.

Someone like Sterling could mean two, as he could be used in a few places due to his versatility. Has played across the front line, including as a striker and AM/Number 10.

Or you could look at the last 12 games of last season (15 points equating to 47 over the course of a season) or even the last 10 games of last season (12 points equating to 45 points) and then we are no longer in relegation form.

Fulham were 14th over the last 11 games last season. You should start watching football, you might enjoy it.

King+Lecomte+settled Sess, Cuenca, Berge, ESR and peaking Muniz, Bassey > Old Willian, Part time Nelson, Benda, Vini and any light regression of post peak Leno, Andersen, and Raul.

Reckon you're being incredibly imaginative with the suggestions, for example, that King next season will be at Willian's standard, or that Sess has struggled up to now to settle at the club where he already spent what, a decade? And you can add about 5 more regular starters to the "light regression" column given most of our team are now around the 30 mark.

Oh and AFCON.

I mean, I'm not necessarily suggesting we're much worse, but no way are we improved, at this point.

What do you mean rekindled? I thought we already put in a bid, did it get rejected?
Rekindled as in we were interested in January, opted to re-sign Willian, now we're interested again.

Club only looking at loans it seems, that makes sense with Marco in his last year and not signing a new deal so understand
The both sides of the impass.money put aside for who comes next .

According to talk nonsense radio this morn, our manager is not happy, especially with Palahinha going to Spurs.
Did we actually go for him?

And what has happened with the ITK chaps on here that stated Nelson was done and dusted over a week ago now.Something stinks to high heaven with what is going on in this window.
I await with bated breath to see if we actually sign someone, apart from a back up goalie.🤔

This really is turning into a disaster of a window

It's not over yet but I am increasingly worried that it is turning into something of a damp squib. I may well be mistaken but , at the end of the season , I got the impression that we were going to be ' ambitious " had identified targets and what we needed  - in order to " push on".
Whilst I take on board fully the wise words of Alfie who rightly points out that we don't know what is going on behind the scenes and that some players just may not want to come - I'm a tad concerned that ,if true , we aren't an attractive ' destination'either that or are poor at selling ourselves.

I also understand that the tactic of waiting until the end of the window can work in our favour -  but surely it can't apply to all of your ' targets".

Certain things that you really want ( in order to push on ) need to be acquired even if you have to pay more than you would want to - this can then be balanced with late cut price bargains.

Players may not want to come if we cannot give them European football - I can understand that - but unless we break out from our current strategy I cannot see how we will ever get back into Europe. There was a fantastic chance last season but it fell away through lack of real squad depth and a little short on consistent quality .

Talk of ambition is fine but action is what really matters. Talk is in fact cheap but action costs money and a certain amount of risk

Which is it to be ? What do we really want as a club and a fanbase ? Are they the same?

Personally - at the  beginning of every season ( having parted with good money) I just want to be able to be excited , to dream and to hope that this will be our time.

I'm waiting

I want to see new signings soon as well, but remember we already have a very good, well drilled, team and we play terrific brand of football, as we saw vs Al Ittihad couple of days ago. There is no need for too much of a pessimism.

New players will come sooner or later, I am sure with that.
