He's very highly rated - there's your young signing with bags of potential people were crying for .. Type of player we could sell for double if he comes to England and performs

He was recently voted Shakhtar's Player of the season with 41% of the vote. In the 2024-25 season, he scored 5 goals in 7 appearances in April alone, for a winger that is great goal output

Let's be honest we probably won't get this guy (although praying we do) but all I care about right now is that we have actually offered a substantial amount of money rather than a frigging loan.

That would have been our record signing had it got accepted. Shows we do keep our business quiet and there is potentially a lot going on behind the scenes ..

Defo. Never doubted stuff was going on. We all know we try and do everything behind the scenes and the thought that they are sitting there twiddling their thumbs is farcical. With every rumour seeming like we were only going for loans I was getting pretty worried that we were focusing on this SCR thing but this is very encouraging. Very ambitious attempt. Let's hope we can somehow pull a miracle out and get it done but looks tough.

Why do people assume the most negative thing so often here?

Could it be that nelson isn't the only wing target and part of the reason we havent closed it is because we're playing a negotiation game and seeing what's out there?

Could it be were playing those negotiations off eachother?

Could it be were putting this bid in hoping it softens arsenals position if they think we'll seriously move on if they don't meet us where we want the deal for reiss?

Could it be we want two wing signings that are predominantly LW freeing up Iwobi to compete RW and centre? Maybe adama is off for a decent fee?

Who knows🤷 but it doesn't have to be the worst possible explanation every time 😅

Agreed, I'm setting myself up to assume this doesn't come off, it's certainly ambitious, but he'll have options this lad and the cost may well stretch too far. But regardless, nice to see it confirmed we're bidding on some top quality too behind the scenes.

I mean, we haven't heard anything on Nelson for weeks and all of a sudden we're ready to blow a club record fee on a player in the same position. I may be wrong but it seems to show us having moved on? You may be right that it's to pressure Arsenal, but Arsenal aren't thick and they'll know if this is a genuine bid or not.

For the record, hardly a negative post as I like the look of Kevin and reckon he could be a better signing than Nelson.
