I mean, it's a bid, and Romano is reporting it. Not sure it will haven taken weeks of work to get to this point, and also surely it being on Twitter is the opposite of being "behind the scenes". Think Deeping sums it up with the 'someone woke TK up' description.

That aside, this is exactly the sort of player i want to see us signing, would be amazing if we can get him.

Feels like rehashed news this? Schira I swear got exposed as a BS source at some point.

Mate almost all journo s talk complete BS of course so yeah prob. There has been a fair few rumours on him so who knows. Struggled at Juve I believe but very good at Fiorentina and very good un the air from what I remember. Certainly hope there is some truth in it.

Well to an extent, all journos are dodgy but some are more dodgy than others  ::wink::

Generally the only rock solid, top tier sources I can think of are Ornstein, Percy, and Rutzler (for Fulham).

100% but if we only posted them we'd be on page 4 of the silly season thread! To be fair nice to just get any rumour as barely been anything for weeks. Think even the dodgy journos have given up on us in the main.

The bid could be a bit of a smokescreen tbf - I imagine it could be well timed to put pressure on Arsenal or Chelsea regards Nelson and/or Sterling, but if it is legit then it probably puts weight behind the theory we've got money to spend, and kept our powder dry into august to try and drive better deals. Could also mean some significant outgoings which means we've got cash inbound to spend

Romano leads the rest just follow, hence why the excitement levels went up when he mentioned us in a piece.

Generally the promoted sides need signings more than we do.....recently they also go straight back down too...

I know, but the point is they and it seems every side in the league now are getting the players theyv'e targeted to sign for them.

Nelson wasn't in the arsenal squad at all for their game vs villareal yesterday. Could be nothing, could mean movement?

Whilst we're at it can we sign some of Shakhtar's scouts? They seem to always have an up and coming young player recently signed from Brazil or other lower leagues for far less

Bronaldinho

Hard to know if it's just us putting out agent notes, to keep fan base interested etc. Would have liked Kevin if that was an option though. Potential to develop further, quality wide man and fits the Brazillian contingent we've been growing.

Also, nice to see us shop further out - but that does mean we can spend at least 30m EUR if that bid is true.

I imagine we'll still do everything late unless something comes up right earlier. We often do our business behind closed doors.

Personally, quite liked the Ugochukwu deal Burnley just got. Physically got all the attributes to succeed and could have been great for what we wanted in the middle of the park under Silva. But still a gamble. Same for Broja, 25m for him is a lot considering he hasn't done much, but always felt there was a 10-14 goal striker in there somewhere and reckon he'll do a job for Parker there - Big, tall, strong and will just run the channels.

Still confident we'll get the right people in towards the end of the window, as we are masters of late business. But, let's see.

Certainly should be scouting that the Brazillian league more often - we had success with Muniz(albeit after a few seasons) but the league has increased in quality so much in recent years. Forest getting Murillo for like 12m has proved to be invaluable now.

Not surprised but its difficult to compete with what they can offer

Well often when clubs are interested, its being leaked by agents, clubs and so on.

Unless we just literally swooped in with an offer out of the blue, we have been able to keep our interests in the dark from the media.

So yes, things are going on behind the scenes and of course, once a bid is launched then a lot more people (from both clubs) are alerted - hence the Romano tweet. The fact that he posts it on Twitter says nothing about how Fulham operates. You wont find a club that will be able to keep bids a secret.

When your promoted you have a huge transfer kitty and breathing space in the FFP too. It sort of allows you to have that cushion to pay asking price more often, especially as they need replacements in fast. When the squads are already established, you take some time.

Yeah, but every PL side has also spent considerably more than we have this season so far.. its not just a promoted team thing.

Maybe the reports of us being skint aren't true or we're selling someone??

Great if true. Imagine wages might not  be extortionate compared to other reported targets as a young Brazilian coming from the Ukrainian league, so possibly why we can go for him as a bid not a loan.

Also if true, I really don't see why we wait until 10 days before the season opener to go for a player of this profile - I get that being the case with the likes of Douglas Luiz, Joao Palhinha and others of a higher profile who might be waiting to see if teams in Europe put in a bid.

If we are in for him then this is one that could and should have been put in earlier.

Whinge out of my system, go get him Fulham!
