Probably what counted us out too

Not easy to find a quality striker willing to battle out with 2 good strikers who also want to start. Might well be a sterling + laupolo bi situation

25m

14 G/A in 26 games last season in la liga

100% yes from me.

That could be a surprise move for us... imagine if he had a great season with us..

That would be a terrible idea

Rest assured we shall all be put
out of our misery one way of another officially by 7pm Monday 1st September 2025.
Then we can pour ourselves a Large Napoleon Brandy to either celebrate or commiserate.
I can confirm that jumping off Putney Bridge into the River Thames is forbidden.

That's not Nelson and Napoleon we are signing is it?

And Marco signs on as a player.

Manure get an undisclosed amount as well. Easy peasy.

The World Cup has complicated things for a lot of players, especially with the expanded format. If you wanna play for your country, you probably need to be a regular starter.

This is why LDF held out until he was guaranteed to loan move as part of his extension. Taremi can't afford to be a back up at a smaller club right now.

Less than 60 hours to go before the Window and then the Door closes at Motspur Park, where Blingo is holding a Candlelight Vigil.

Quote from: Hatch007 on August 30, 2025, 01:09:48 AMBetis issued a statement saying they can't afford the transfer fee Utd are demanding nor the player's wages.

The offer they did make that they've subsequently withdrawn must have been for a sum lower than Utd will accept.

How the hell did that translate to Man Utd saying a deal was agreed.

Utd are an absolute shambles

Allegedly accepted 25m so presumably at this stage might even consider something less. Would need to take a wage cut though, as he was reportedly going to at betis

From what I can tell from Spanish reports, Betis agreed €25 million but the. Couldn't afford the deal after they took into account the salary, signing on fee snd agents fee so pulled out. Both clubs had announced a fee was agreed.

Not sure if we should go for him though

Quote from: SuffolkWhite on August 29, 2025, 09:47:22 PMIf he's going, we must have a replacement.

I'm sure we have a list of wanted players for all positions but as we know, at this club having a list of potential recruits  does not mean signings will happen.

Suprising as that would suggest a fair amount of cash willing to be spent on striker position if the right deals available

There's cash available Marco has said as much. The reported fee for Kevin would suggest that too.

Which makes this even more frustrating and puzzling of a window.

Must be a record.

Our transfer activity doesn't start until the final 24 hours so I'm hoping we get a couple of decent signings in to top up the squad.

Yeh just mean, if true, suprising specifically that we could look to spend significantly on the striker position like that at his age, with muniz staying.

Fwiw as I follow Roma. He's got the markings of a quality goal scorer but hasn't quite fitted the system in Rome. But that said, the club there's distinctly lacking stability. He's a good goalscorer but often doesn't offer a huge amount outside of that. Or at least from what I've seen. Would have been surprised if he'd moved to be the 3rd option here though. Rumours of a swap deal with Santiago giminez at Milan

Is it that the players we're trying to sign are on the next level and therefore won't consider us!? Or until the big clubs have left them behind?

Defo a strange window this one, as said before I'll reserve judgement until Monday.

That's always been a consistent theme for us and our transfer policy under the khan's though.. we've always straddled that line. Often it hasn't worked, and everyso often it does - e.g. ESR, Palhinha, Leno etc.

That said, they must surely have created a list of realistic and unrealistic targets.

For what it's worth, if I was a player and had to speak to Tony Khan, I'd consider him an awkward and slightly off-putting personality and I wouldn't want him as the front man to our deal as I'd be less likely to sign for him.. he doesn't strike me as a normal and serious man.
