As a Canadian, I really like Alistair Johnston. However, I don't believe he is an improvement over Tate, , and I would argue that at his best, he is quite comparable to Castagne.

I was thinking if we didn't lose so many players to AFCON last season we would have arguably made Europe. One benefit of bringing in home grown talent (it seems we are targeting home grown: Cresswell, Charles and James) is that we won't have to worry about this as much moving forward.

He is 29 years old, and his contract is set to expire next year (I think we have a one-year option). I find that price hard to believe; it's more likely to be between 10 million and 15 million

If he goes I believe its more about removing an (almost) 30 year old on over £60,000 a week from the books than because he's not good enough.

But we will need to replace him with a physical presence.

I wouldn't sell him for less, especially if we have a one year option. He's underrated.

From what I've seen online we've been linked with:

Charlie Cresswell
Rico Lewis
Jordan James 
Shea Charles
Ethan Nwaneri
And the two Real Madrid players.

If we ended up getting all those I would be extremely happy. Normally I would say slim chance of all that happening, but it looks like we might have some leaving and I just have a feeling this will be a big summer for us. It will be interesting to see what happens. The main risk is lack of experience, but our current squad it fairly experienced so I think we would be fine bringing in a lot more younger players.

Nobody wants Reed,  I might be in the minority, but I would sell Lucic. I read that his value is between 10.6 and 13.9 million, which sounds accurate to me.

I think he might be being used to smoke Nwaiwu out. Apparently we've left the offer on the table with Trabzonspor and it's that or nothing. I like Cresswell, very dominant but not sure he's entirely suited to the way Arbeloa wants to set up. No slouch but wouldn't have the recovery pace of Nwaiwu in a high line

I agree, i like this tactic of recruiting, dangle the fact we offered but willing to go elsewhere, see how they want to play that
