Problem is we've seen this movie before.
They make a splash and then get their heads turned by a " bigger" club and we're lucky to get a half decent return.
I wonder sometimes why we bother with an academy that is in reality a training school for Liverpool and spuds.
Brentford gave up on it and it hasn't hurt them at all.

Brentford has started up their academy again.

Anyway, the cost for the academy doesn't count for FFP. We have an absurdly wealthy owner that can afford to spend on the academy. I completely fail to see the issue other than sour grapes whenever one of the kids leave.

.

In addition to the speech, scout Brian Talbot said that they were also interested in Beşiktaş's 17-year-old young player Mustafa Erhan Hekimoğlu and were following him.

[/quote]

That's interesting, where did you find the follow up article out of interest? Kılıçsoy is a left winger and Hekimoğlu is a striker, the former 18 and latter 17. Not sure if they're meant to be long term prospects or for the academy

Brian might have just pop out to get some new teeth and a hair transfer

Brentford reopened its Academy two years ago - and with good reason.

Any club that qualifies for a European Cup competition has to be granted a licence by UEFA. Among the criteria is that the club has an approved youth development programme.

No Academy basically means no licence to take part.

Agree BDR has been good servant, but there were quite a few games towards end of season where he looked lost and not up to much

Just get this ESR deal done for goodness sake. If we do that shows we mean business and hopefully encourages others to come.

evidentally not the only one interested so there'll be plenty negotiating going on from the clubs and players agent that will dictate where he ends up.
He might see palace as a better fit with their recent resurgance who knows.

All I know is this is my most wanted transfer of all the ones Ive seen. If we lose willian and or periera hes the one I see as a potential improvement on both those positions

Yeah defo mate. Not saying it's easy or anything just praying. He was immense a few years ago. Defo the one I'm most excited about. Prob is the likes of him and Chalobah May think they are a level above us. Usually Palace would be on a par but their end to last season could give them the upper hand. I think our prob as much as anything is we are trying to go pretty big but got to convince players to come. Half the players here seem to want out for something bigger. If we get one May attract others. Let's hope Marco can talk his magic and convince him. Here's praying!

There are other parties involved, not just Fulham

As per my comment above I didn't mean it like Fulham was doing anything wrong. Just praying for it to happen as sounds like we've been all over it. Bet we are struggling to convince him to come as well as getting the right price.

Palace have looked at ESR but he's not a target. They are being used to drive up the fee.

Think these gossip pages just winds us all up last season 100 odd pages no signings.

Does it though. I mean if anybody takes it seriously they deserve to be wound up. It is all nonsense until it isn't. Much like life really.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Somerset Fulham

I don't know why I think this, but I would be surprised if ESR ends up with us.  I know he has had his problems but when fit I would have thought him capable of playing in that Arsenal side.

My arsenal family members and friends all love him and rate him if he can stay injury free. All feel he deserves to be a starter somewhere but is competing with oodergard and martinelli. Even went as far as to say there was a time where he was one of arsenals best attacking players and was instrumental in bailing them out in some rougher periods. Hes top top quality on his day and still very young.

They were surprised when I was shocked they felt 35-40million was about what hes worth. I doubt he goes for that much but certainly it's an inflated market atm.

I too would be suprised if we pulled it off but would love for it to happen.

Lets form a manifestation circle for ESR lighting up the cottage.

Guys footwork is insanely good, so techniclaly gifted on the ball. We can but hope

Joao is out of the semi final due to a ridiculous yellow card from Michael Oliver after what was a brilliant challenge. Think he's got time to do his medical now then so we can get on with signing Andre or whoever we are brining in to replace him?
