Quote from: Marcel_Gecov on August 03, 2024, 07:19:25 PMSeems to be a thing where one journalist will start a rumour and the next one will poo-poo it. Appreciate views/ clicks etc but I find it so hard to not start @ing the journalist if they are wrong. I remember when Fab said Solomon transfer had died and shortly after it was confirmed... the amount of abuse he got was biblical.

I know Romano gets a bit of stick on here but I find him incredibly reliable - that was a very rare piece of wrong info. He's held to an almost perfect standard.

Fair enough. Yesterday he came with Cuenca piece out of nowhere and today here he is as a Fulham player. Romano is as reliable as it gets.

That's probably the right statement for me. 'As reliable as it gets'. He plys his trade with the gutter and he comes up clean. He's decent and I follow him on social media as he's an entertainment for silly season, but I just find peoples statements on him on reliability baffling, almost cult like. He still gets a lot wrong and he's most definitely doing it on purpose to help his agent buddies shift clientele.

I mean, he gets stuck more because people make statements about how good he is when he's consistently given out as many hits as he has missed (probably more hits than misses to be fair). But there's such a strange cult around the bloke. Criticism gets people's backs up which is so strange when he's just another pumped up agent mouth piece with a Twitter following.

He's good at what he does but reliable? As I always say, when he tweets, put your money on it and see how rich you are as a result.

See I find him pretty much all hit, and basically no miss - thats why there's such a cult around him and Ornstein.

I think he gamifies and amplifies the transfer window and also repeat posts saying basically nothing at times, which is tedious - but he does it for monetising. But I find his information extremely reliable.

If he says something is happening and you put money on it, you'll be quids in.

If that's your take mate, all I can say is, research it more. He's already got a few wrong this window and he got quite a bit wrong last window. His image, at least in my mind, has gone down significantly. He used to be a guy that reported less but more accurate and when he posts his signature 'here we go' it meant to mean something. Now, he says here we go and sometimes, weeks later it might of happened.

I appreciate people will ask for examples and my biggest one is always how wrong he was on Caicedo. He did 3 here we go tweets and one was right in the end....

At the end of the day, if you like him and think his tweets moves markets ie quids in, well, if he's right, and such an accurate safe bet, you don't need to worry and it should be lumps on and easy returns.

Out of curiosity, which deals have you seen him get wrong? It's certainly not a subject matter I'm passionate about, but yes I find him as reliable as it comes and haven't seen him get a lot wrong before

Its fine, not gonna argue with you about this. I don't remember that with Caicedo.

FFC1987

Haha don't want an argument pal. But he said Caicedo was twice a 'here we go' going to Liverpool and then very shortly before it was announced, did one for Chelsea. It's that kind of thing where he's clearly ITK, he's not making it up, but my point is always, I wouldn't bet on his reliability because he's so often using his platform to help his agent pals force deals through.

He hinted at it after last window on a podcast he did where he basically said, he often gets asked to tweet things and sometimes, he knows he's being used but he does it anyway they might not feed him information next time. So even when he's wrong, it's insider info he's been given so I'd never say he's a BS artist. Just....a useful tool.

Some Brazilian journo who follows Fluminense just said Andre deal is done for 20m euros fixed plus 10m in add ons (if we get to the Europe or win some cups).

Romano is good, basically gets briefed by agents and sometimes clubs. I would not be surprised if someone in the club briefed him on both cuenca and sess.

Seen a joker on twitter now say the andre deal is done.

Once again, let's just wait and see what a reliable source shares.

He's got barely any followers but I have just translated all of the comments (yeah I'm that desperate)! Sounds like he is at a Fluminese BBQ and some guy call Marcio has confirmed it. Who the F is Marcio?!  Another comment suggested if Marcio said it they it must be true.

Considering Fluminese was posting Andre on their social media a few hours ago I doubt it but nothing surprises me with this one anymore.

100% agree about the "here we go" thing. It should mean to me, Deal done/medical passed but instead it seems to be posted ahead of even the medicals. I get he wants to break stories before Sky Sports etc but in doing so he has really cheapened his brand. Maybe he should go back to working on fewer stories and offering more quality - but then he would miss out on that sweet X coin.

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

I said probably 30 pages back that I bet Andre doesn't happen. I'm still somewhat inclined to stand by that statement.

Yes, this is what I mean by him gamifying transfers. He repeat posts to get that twitter money, and now and again jumps the gun. He's not perfect, but nothing comes from thin air with him. His use of 'here we go' leaves him susceptible to last minute changes occasionally.

I've deactivated my X account now as its so horrible on there, and can save time cutting out useless rumours rather than waiting for reliable outlets to confirm. This Andre saga for example is a total circus.

Rightwhite

Lol. So we've gone from Andre as good as done, to Andre deal as good as dead, to Andre now being a FFC player. And all in one day lol. You can't make it up. All part of the fun though.

I can say that Andre may or may not come to Fulham. That makes me as accurate as any ITK.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

Just imagine - get Andre for LESS than we were willing to pay, that'd be some negotiation  - 20m euros  (with 10 extra in performance add-ons) - instead of 25m with 5m.

I'm sceptical though sadly as it says we'd only get 80% of the players rights, which just isn't really a done thing and definitely not a Fulham thing. Perhaps what's meant by that is agent gets a lot, or they get 20% of any future fee received, though I can't imagine Fulham would agree to that, seems very steep.

Fun though, now i've embraced the madness and ridiculousness of this whole saga.

Also posted this..

Flu will receive € 8 million immediately and + 2 installments of € 5 million on Dec 24/Jul 25. Totaling € 18 million.
Intermediary Carlos Leite will have 10% exclusivity of the sale ( € 2 million).

The guy he's quoting though, misspelt it seems, is Fluminense's President, if you believe the post at all.

80% thing could be a translation for 20% sell on clause?

Matt10

Well, they play tomorrow in a crucial match. If he's not in the lineup, we'll know our answer. I don't think he'll have a farewell match really. The Fluminese support are pretty hard to please, especially considering he's constantly referred in the same sentence as Diniz.

Remember how it was when Pereira came our way? There were no farewells, he just cut ties with Flamengo and left, and a lot of them had the same mentality of driving him to the airport.

Hopefully it's the same with Andre. We will welcome him with open arms and give him a home.

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

So if we only got 80% of his registration, presumably we'd have to amputate his arms or something.

Eton White

I do have to admit, I'll be very interested to see the Fulham PR spin on the Andre signing, if it ever does happen.

The only one I can thing of is:

Maybe the Fluminese fans prefer spectating the club's bank account to whatever happens on the pitch. Doesn't seem credible to me.
