Aston Villa, Fulham submit offers to sign Semih Kilicsoy

According to Sabah via SportWitness, Aston Villa and Fulham are both keen on signing Besiktas attacking sensation Semih Kilicsoy. Both clubs seek attacking reinforcement and they recently knocked on the doors of the Turkish club with offers to prise him away.

Kilicsoy has been a part of Besiktas' youth setup since 2016. He came up the ranks at some pace and was promoted to the first team last summer. In his debut campaign at the senior level, he was involved in 35 matches and he finished with 15 goal contributions.

He made a total of 20 starts in the Super Lig and scored 12 goals. His impressive performances for the Turkish club and his ability to feature on either flank, as well as number nine, helped him be a part of the Turkiye team at Euro 2024.

Following the approval from scout Brian Talbot, Fulham were the first to move. They submitted an offer worth €15 million plus add-ons. While Marco Silva has made some interesting additions to his team this summer, he still seeks a top-quality forward and Kilicsoy could be a perfect fit for him. But, their bid has been turned down.

Seems to be rehashed from yesterday's reports as opposed to any advancement but sounds an interesting one. Looks to me a stronger and more dynamic player than Jay Stansfield at  potentially. If we were, for example, to sell Stansfield for round about the £8-£10m mark with pure profit (much as I'd love for us to find a seller for more), and then bring in Kilicsoy for something around £17/18m rising to say 22m with performance-based addons amortised over a 4-5 year contract I could see that as being good business personally.

This kid is hotly tipped and seems a tenacious character who appears to have more physicality than Jay at only 18. I'd LOVE Jay to come good here but I wouldn't be against this

Also depends on whether he thinks he has more chance of playing ahead of Muniz or Watkins. At his age he will want to play.

And how much Villa will be willing/able to pay for him too. He's only 18 and with 4 years left on his contract, so still a fair gamble to spend a big fee on at this stage for either club. They allegedly have bid higher than us so far. Lets see how it goes

Even with a £65m cash injection, I wouldn't at all be worried about Bournemouth even considering purchasing Muniz.

Due to the new rules coming in and their 11,000 capacity ground, their transfer strategy is buying promising young players from the EFL / abroad they can afford to hire on lower wages to fit into their structure and developing them for a high sell on fee. Muniz has already broken through at EPL level so he and his agent will be aiming for his next move to be to a larger profile club than Fulham and on a wage higher than the structure Bournemouth work to.

If Muniz continues to be successful then I've made peace with the fact he will inevitably move on to pastures new, but that won't be Bournemouth.

I think Boscombe will be ok they look a  strong well organised team and tough to beat.

Chelsea still looking for a buyer for Trevoh. Nothing new really.

Wonder what he'll end up going for.

They want way to much. I would do a deal at £20m with £5m in add ons.

Somerset Fulham

It is such a harsh way to deal with a player too.  I can't put my finger on exactly why and this sounds ridiculous when talking about football but it seems so utterly money driven.

"yes we don't want you and you won't play, but we are also pricing you out of any chance of a move"

Think Chalobah ends up at Palace after they sell Guehi

Lighthouse

Chelsea are said to have spent two hundred and forty three million. Now this is clearly madness. What chance has clubs outside of the top 5 or 6 with that sort of spending. Yet clubs will be done for breaking FFP rules. Makes the whole thing just a fiasco.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

That financial expert I think his name is Maquire has said that Aston Villa have to raise at least 100m clear profit even after champions league football to avoid breaching PSR this season.

Either they are breaking the FFP rules or the rules aren't designed well. It just isn't fair...

I mean if they're not technically breaching FFP rules, then it is fair, we're either just not doing the same thing, or don't know how to?

Chelsea sold hotels to afford extra stuff? Football club's are becoming big and multifaceted businesses now, more than just football venues - look at our new riverside stand, restaurants, bars, hotels, gym.

Think Real's new stadium is similar - I'm sure quite a few stadiums are now purchasing extra land to develop the land along side the football, but for mixed use - making modern stadiums community/social hubs to increase revenues.

I'm not even talking about us. Small teams get punished severly for tiniest of offences, while Chelsea use tons of loopholes and avoid punishment (and even with those loopholes it seems like something is off). Seems like the rules are stupid if they allow such "loopholes".

They have sold a bunch of players for profit this summer, so I don't think the spending is that notable this window.

Their issue is they are not spending on top talent. It's mostly like for like. I don't see them improving their results with the players they are bringing in.

If we bring in a few more players I think we've got a good chance of finishing ahead of them. I don't rate this Chelsea team at all. If you take Palmer out then they are fairly average- to many injuries and not a lot of experience in that team.

They spent almost 200 million more than they earned in the previous season, and this season they spent around 30 million more than they earned. And apparently they are close to completing a signing of Pedro Neto from Wolves for more than 50 million.

With Man Utd agreeing to sell AWB to West Ham, they will now sign Mazzaroui i guess, but having agreed 50 million euros for De Ligt they may need to sell someone. Likely Casemiro, Lindleoff, Maguire or McTominay. The last one there on the bench today so maybe they will rescue their asking price if they need  the money
