Quote from: Deuce on August 18, 2024, 06:24:40 PMJackson had a poor start to his season but he got his act togheter and scored 14 goals in the prem. Not too bad for someone who is consistently bad.

In comparison, according to some, Muniz was "fantastic" last season and he scored 9 goals.
He played more games and of course cost 4 times what we paid for Muniz

Difference being Jackson was bought for 4x as much as Muniz.

Muniz played half the minutes of Jackson.

Don't think he was fantastic, but I think there is some kind of amnesia going on among his detractors that he somehow got 9 goals starting every game.

DM

Fulham want 4 before deadline.

That's a Chelsea marketing line. Look at his xG and conversion rate. Was the worst on the league by an absolute margin.
Im sure he has.

Im just not sure how someone scoring 14 goals in the league is consistently or embarrisingly bad, but maybe thats just me. Pretty good tally in a pretty woeful Chelsea.

Not making any comparison between the two players, merely commenting on how distorted some peoples view are on players outside the club, and on our own players.

The single most important metric for a striker is the one in the Goals Scored column. And there is just no other way around the fact that 14 League goals is a good number in a dysfunctional Chelsea. Certainly not qualifies as being consistently bad

Lies, damn lies & statistics.

Now I know Jackson does not take penalties to inflate his goals for tally but I believe he scored 3 of his 14 against a 9-man Spurs team.

Maybe Muniz might have scored a hat trick against a 9-man team. If we had played one.

I have no idea whether you're legit or not , people's views differ significantly, with a larger portion thinking you're not..

But statements like this are slightly pointless.

Marco has given us the information we want a RCB, a DM and a forward line option, and it's not a stretch to suggest a loan or two extra chucked in.

You need to have a reputation and give more details out for you to build one and to be accountable for..

Bare minimum, time frames, leagues from, where we're at in negotiations or what's holding things up with particular players..

You can give a lot away without giving away the exact players details.

What ages are they, are they familiar with PL or not, are they good players/big names or not..

I want you to say things we can hold you accountable to.

Otherwise it just looks like you're a kid on a random ego trip to be important without actually being important.

I Reckon when the window slams shut Marco hasn't got all the players he Required.

Bidding war for Vinicius would be a Dutch Auction.

I do not forget he got 9 goals but what i would like to see is that 8 game form for a longer period. I want him to speed but he has to step up, he really dropped after the good run last season, so now is the time to switch back on

Saudi reportedly. I think his character may have been offputting for PL managers.
Yeah, he's heard that he can bet as much as he likes out in that disgraceful country!

Apparently a RCB, could he be a back up to Andersen, or Andersen's replacement?

Plays as RCB and RB for Wolfsburg so not sure why he thinks its a Guehi replacement over an anderson replacement personally, mentioned this already earlier.

With our offer not being reported as rejected and them going for a right sided CB looks more likely anderson is being freed up

Edit* - just seen the Original tweet was 2 days ago before NUFC had bids rejected and ours hasn't been publically at least... now seemingly sky reporter implying this move is done ... Reckon this does indeed free up Anderson. Well see this week I guess

One for the youth? Seemingly questionable source though. (what a quality way to kick off a highlight reel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELwQxw5Y2Ko)

and Vini bid received according to sky

Thought Andersen s passing was brilliant today. Palace just continually looked for him to quarter back everything. He was pinging long passes left right and centre and most hit the mark. So much better than what we have in that respect.

With their back 5 Glasner had him and Guehi pushing into midfield with and without the ball with crazy isolated presses. As soon as either were turned Brentford were away on the break. Doesn't play to Andersens lack of speed at all. Think he'd suit our system much better in a solid back 4 that sits in a shape. Please let this get done the next few days. Think he's just what we need. If £25m+£5m that doesn't have seem to have been rejected yet it's a great deal.

For me, any of the 3 options on the table look good tbh. Anderson, Gomez or Deigo Carlos all would be good additions. I loved Anderson here so perhaps that clouds my judgments as Im less familiar in terms of first hand experience of their ability, naturally, with the others. Seen different reports saying Gomez available for anything from £30-45m so who knows but think that likely a stretch too far for us.

In the meantime hope Diop keeps up the performances from Utd just like Muniz when we brought in Broja!

As for Scott and Andre rumours and all other links this summer, it does seem Marco isn't really looking at enforcer types which I find intriguing. Does seem like he want's to play a different way altogether rather than "replace" Palhinha directly (unless some outright bulldog DM surprises us out the blue by the end of the window) . But all the links have been to ball playing deep CMs or box to box types so god knows what Marco is planning. Will be intriguing to see it play out for sure
