***yawn***

I'll quietly wait until last minute of window to see just how good of a summer it turns out to be.

Truthfully the most sensible thing to do

Enjoy the odd rumour , don't get attached to reactionary to any of it until it has clear substance from multiple top sources or indeed, till it shows up on the official.

Whatever will be will be

Depends how the money was spent!

I still wish we had kept Stansfield, just the kind of prospect we want.
Yes but he wasn't prepared to wait for his chance, he wanted first team football immediately, it was his choice to go.

...and tbf he missed a sitter tonight v  Spain....

Looks like we are signing a new right back then. Disappointing that he would leave for Everton though.

Unfortunately that means we've just lost 15m of the transfer kitty on a free going out the door which we need to sufficiently replace

SerbianLad

Depressing news. We better be signing a world class replacement. New right back is now the absolute priority.

FFC1987

That's really, really disappointing. Poor form from us but I guess we can't force him to sign a deal.

Rambler

Can't force him to sign a contract. But very frustrating

Hope the club have a sufficient plan in place to replace him. Time will tell

Kyle walker is there also strange one.

Yep...at his best he was a terrific natural defender ...if he stays fit Everton have got a bargain...but that's a big if. Missed 19 games this season, started only 10 the season before according to transfermarket

Agree injury prone, good defender but not great. Always feel there is something missing in his game.  Often gets caught in two minds and makes the wrong decision at least once a game.

No doubt we ll see the narrative change to more of this now. From king Kenny to injury prone in a matter of minutes!

Absolutely gutted. Best one on one defender in the league. Hard to understand. Yes out for months last season but that was a massive impact injury tgat could happen to anyone rather than ligaments so shouldn't recur. Has of course had many before however.

What is the logic then? We know he wanted to stay for the right deal as he said so. Can only assume we were only prepared to offer 2 years vs their 3 and salary was higher. Seems strange when we have just given Andersen a massive deal for 5 years at a similar age!

However trying to find tactical reasons...I  suppose he is decent going forward but essentially he is far more of a defender than attacker. We know Marco adores Robinson overlapping on the left so perhaps he wants to get someone in who will do the same on the right to give us more balance so we are not so one dimensional. Bellanova, Milan van Ewijk or KWP all fit that mould so perhaps we have lined something up with that. All 3 I worry defensively however. Marco end of the season also said all focus was on keeping Tete so unless we have lined something incredible up seems strange he would have changed his mind.

Huge part of the budget now gone however you look at it and just gutted. Can we please have some sort of F'ing good new Fulham! Please!  ::cry::

I mean, he's still King Kenny but he's had question marks over his ability to play a full season. But will always be King Kenny for me. I rate him as one of the best full backs around on his day.

I get fed up with the constant blaming Fulham, why is it poor form from us? there is a limit that can be offered to a player, he is a good player, but for me not a great player. If he is going to Everton then for me it can only be for money. I can't believe he thinks they are better than Fulham, then again maybe he does think that, or maybe  he doesn't like Marco's system, who knows, Unfortunately none of us know what his agent has asked for and what Fulham have offered.

Can't blame him for securing one last pay day.

He said himself he wanted to stay for the right deal. You can only assume it is contract length and salary. If they are paying him a fortune over 3 years fair enough. Well prob never know the detail but maybe it was a lot. Seems strange as Everton are tight on money with so many positions to replace. Or maybe by some miracle we are actually getting Bellanova and the club has decided he's a massive upgrade with a younger player. Going to be a frigging expensive one if that is it!

Both things can be true; he's a fantastic RB when fit, but he's also injury prone and turning 30 in October means the risk profile for his injuries will only go up. The biggest waste of all this is that the club once again lose a decent player for nothing and we'll have to spend millions replacing him - at least he came here for £3m so we got excellent value for money  considering his time here. If he breaks down with a several month-long injury before the end of the calendar year then the club might be vindicated in not offering him bigger money on a long contract
