Replacement for Muniz are we thinking or to compliment?

The beancounters at the club might like the idea of selling Muniz for 30 plus and getting a replacement in for near half the price

Personally I would take the 26m on offer, that's a right touch! Get someone in for that plus the extra £15m we were gonna spend on Romolu, £40m should get us something decent.

Not taking the money at the right time could be costly, look at AR and AP, value tumbled after last seasons showing.

It's amazing the alternative narratives fans can come up with and push, despite rarely having genuine insights on players or clubs preferences, the genuine financial position of the club and those who take decisions...

In particular at this moment in time saying the club will/should sell Muniz (not everyone is saying this admittedly)..

Firstly muniz isn't in his prime, so those interested in cash money aren't thinking properly. You tend to keep assets that you know will appreciate in value over time.

If some say - let's sell him for £30m when we all acknowledge he could be worth £50m-£60m then you're basically selling yourself short or up s**t creek without a paddle.

Why would you knowingly miss out on an extra potential 100% of upside, when all you need to do is be patient.

It's very short term and unhealthy thinking.. kinda desperate. Which the club aren't.

Don't forget the rise in valuation is based on improved performances on the pitch, which is great for the club in terms of points, league positions and revenues, but could see us get into Europe, where £30m would make a lot less difference than £60m.

It's funny how there have been no sounds out of anyone at the club saying they want Muniz gone, if anything the complete opposite, shown in practice by Muniz staying on at the club and succeeding despite his poor Middlesbrough loan.

And even the more mainstream press like SSN, who are usually first to jump on a rumour and inflate it have said that fulham have no intention of selling Muniz..

Now, I know, sometimes things change.. and Marco has wanted players to stay before who've left. So we're not ruling anything out per se, but mitrovic was forcing through his move and we were getting good value for him.. similarly with Palhinha.

But Muniz isn't going for what he's worth, and by a long way, and he's not going to a top European team, or to a club that's paying him obscene amounts, or even a better place to live with a better setup re coach/manager that believe in him and can help him develop.

There's a 25% sell on fee that Flamengo get, so that would be awful business given the inflated striker market for someone who can actually score in the PL

I love Muniz, think he's a top player and all round great guy. I think Leeds could even see a profit on 50m in a few years but if a 50m bid came in then we would have to seriously consider it..

What makes you think that Muniz will reach "his prime". This may well be his prime. He may not have the all round ability to be first choice. There's no guarantee that he will be a £50-60m player in 2/3 years. No player is unsellable and if Marco thinks that the money on offer is good and he knows who he can replace him with then so be it.

There are too many uncertainties over any player. The only thing which is certain is that Leeds are interested in him and if Marco feels he can go he goes.

Seems like they are aiming pretty high with a £32m bid for Muniz. Not bad then if we are fishing in the same pool for our third striker. Main point is that there are so few decent strikers about around in the £20m to £30m pool so not surprising linked to the same names.

I'm a fan of this one. A really solid keeper, homegrown and will probably be satisfied with limited playing time. Free agent too.

He isn't homegrown. Would take up one of our foreign spots. TBH don't think we are close to reaching home grown limits but never know

Muniz seems to be Marco's pride and joy so no way are we selling him. Selling Muniz would definitely result in Marco not signing a new contract.

Agree, would be absolutely horrible business to sell him for that little. Also even for 40 million it is really hard to find a striker that is even as proven as Muniz in the PL. That market (young-ish striker that has proven to be capable to score in the PL) is probably the most inflated of them all (from my gut feeling, nothing else). Terrible suggestion in my opinion.
