Quote from: WindyCity on July 08, 2025, 04:49:54 PMThe transfer period ending AFTER the season has started is Ridiculous!!!  I know this is how it has been forever, why can't/don't they fix that?!??  Transfers should be all done before the season starts, maybe a week or two before, so that teams can be settled going into a new campaign.

Seemingly, it only works if all the major European leagues agree to do so. We, in England, made a unilateral decision in 2018 to close our transfer window on the Thursday prior to the opening weekend of matches. However, top English clubs in European competition argued this weakened their negotiating position in respect of elite players as their rivals on the continent were able to sign up to the end of August. In 2020, we sychronised with our European counterparts once again.

Really? You wouldn't be surprised by scenario that hasn't happened in recent memory happening this year for the first time???

Exactly this , i don't meant to be mean whenI say this but are some people just really bored and need a good moan? or are saying stuff to be controversial/negative for the sake of it?

Never has that ever happened so course it would be a suprise 😅

As mentioned the average first signing for Fulham in recent times has come between last week of July and early/mid August. Last year our first was Emile Smith Rowe on August 2nd
Shortly followed by cuenca on the 3rd

It's TKs fault and you know it... stop defending him!!!

Damnit, fine , ok guys you caught me, it's me Tony. Pls dont be so mean to me, Im doing my best alright. It's not my fault, I got a lot on my plate, what between focusing on wrestling, living in murica where I'm incapable of viewing tape - reading stats and having video meetings + having to find time to write on this board, all while just generally being a cocky guy. I pwomise to do better.

I can't see why he would want to leave them to be a third choice here.  I call bollocks on that one.

Not sure why no one likes Nicolas Jackson. He's a very good player. Last season he struggled but the season before he got 14 goals and 5 assists in the PL. He's only 24 years old and he causes defenders a lot of problems - he's very good running with the ball as well.

If it's a loan we would need to have an option to buy because one good season with us then his value doubles.

If we do get him I presume one of our forwards are leaving because he would be coming here to start. Having said that, I still back Muniz to have a breakout season, I think he's quality.

Anyhow, I doubt this rumour is true but I just wanted to make the case for Jackson as I rate him.

Probably not the news we are all waiting to hear, but we have signed several of the Youth from the Academy on scholarship terms I understand.

The most familiar name here is Damien Cech (son of Petr, who used to be netminder for the Guildford Flames ice hockey team).  This has actually made the press:

www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/fulham-fc-petr-cech-chelsea-arsenal-b1236804.html

The other two names I have are a bit more ITK.

One of my kids is at school in Wandsworth and two of the boys from their school year have been with the Academy for some time.  My kid showed me what looked like official contract signing pictures on their Instagram feed for these two:

Markuss Gomins - Central midfielder - has already been playing youth football for Latvia for several years, most recently in the U-17 Euro games last autumn (didn't play in the matches this June, presumably because he was sitting his GCSEs).  Has scored for Latvia U-17 I believe.

Anand Batra - Striker - know less about him, but apparently eligible for England and India.  Some info here:https://fulham.fandom.com/wiki/Anand_Batra

I wonder if it's got anything to do with our erratic spending in the 2018 Season.

He's a decent enough runner but he doesn't read the game well enough and he certainly doesn't finish well enough. The season you mentioned where he did score goals, he had the worst xG rating by some margin meaning he could and should have scored a substantial amount more with the chances his team mates were creating.

He's not the worst player in the world, far from it, but he's got a real attitude problem by the sounds of it and I'm not sure his talent is worthy of it. Wouldn't be entirely against a loan deal though. But I don't see him as you do. Not really a fan and can certainly see why people neither like him, or rate him.

Agree, he looks excellent. Some people are never happy.

In any case, he won't agree to come here.

When do the first team report back for training. I know s9me did voluntary workouts so am meaning the first day they are all back, as not seen anything on the website and usually there is. We usually get the first signing early August don't we? Probably wrong on that, but as long as we are getting them in early in the pre season I am ok with it, not a fan of a lot of signings the last couple of days of the window.

Chesterfield fans seem genuinely very positive about re signing Tanton on loan. Most thinking saying they thought he was brilliant before his injury.

Hopefully he manages to stay fit and progresses well in time to take over from one of our RBs in the next couple years. Big development year for him

Good luck Devan!

These posters who want youngish players ,when Jackson gets mentioned,I bet it's the same people who don't want this youngish player.
Myself he's starting as the 3rd striker which gives Marco and the coaches plenty of time to get him to the required standard, dislike all the negative stuff on here.

FFC1987

I mean, they're just opinions Hove. Not sure why it's triggering a handful of posters because they rate Jackson and others don't 😂
