For the money we have reportedly offered we could comfortably get Romulo for what has been asked.

There's a huge difference between the two players though. Romulo is a striker, and we already have two strikers, both of which arw arguably good enough to be first choice. Even if we didn't get a new striker we'll be absolutely fine. Vini, who was third choice last year, barely played. Same thing happened in seasons before last, with whoever was 3rd choice at the time. Kevin is a left winger. Iwobi is the only player whose best position in our formation and style of play is left wing. We desperately need another left winger. It makes more sense to spend a lot of money in a position in need.

Completely agree. Kevin has played a handful of games up top as well so could he be that winger who could play up front in an emergency to save us buying a third striker? Not sure as we seem to want one anyway but just a thought.

Sounds like this Forrest deal for Luiz may not be going ahead and they are now in for Musah. Wonder if we could get back in on Luiz then?

Kevin is a very, very good player though, and we're clearly pushing hard. £40m is a big price tag For someone untested in the prem. Would be very excited if it came off.

Oh yeah mate I agree..posted the same on the last page. Prob the only reason we have a chance. If we assess him and we feel he's all good im all in! No one seems to know the seriousness but as frustrating as it would be if we have to wait a month if we are convinced he will get better and that he is all he is hyped up to be let's frigging do it. He does look class.

It's perfectly fulhamish that we have concrete links with a player like Kevin who is on paper a dream signing... but he's injured.

In this most testing of silly seasons this is some peak silly season shenanigans.

At this point would people be happy with the signing even if he's injured?

Might, of course, turn out to be a bust but a club like us needs to buy a raffle ticket occasionally if we hope to land a jackpot.

The club still absolutely should negotiate, it's easy to say quibling over "a couple million quid" when it isn't your couple of million 😅 they're already seemingly offering a club record fee here near on 40m that's ALOT of money for a player who's not yet played in the major leagues yet and they have already improved their offer.

We got other players to bring in and ffp rules to work within after all. A couple million extra here saved could well effect deals elsewhere it's not just about one signing but balancing funds between all positions.

Either way, a good indication for the right player we're willing to splash a bit

Meet in the middle...40m euros up front with 5m in addons and surely everyone shakes hands. Possibly even the 37m already down but 7m in very achievable add ins to give a small insurance for the injury. 🙏

Of all the journalists out there, Romano is one of the most reliable. Not perfect but highly likely this is true at this point. Could be it's part of negotiating down arsenal perhaps but the deal offer is likely legit.

If I had to guess, I think the deal will happen. Shakhtar usually quotes high, but is willing to negotiate this a bit less than 50 million. It's part of their reputation to let the players (especially Brazilians) move on.

Will see where this one goes, injury does concern me but he does look insanely talented. 50M also sounds steep but he looks rapid, crazy good 1v1, incredibly gifted technically and like he understands the game well.

Yeah if Napoli are out we are not a million miles apart so you could definitely see this happening now. Would probably be the most exciting signing we've ever made on paper. Obviously he could turn out to not be as good as we hope or the injury could be an issue but if Marco desperately wants him I'll just trust in that, be absolutely buzzing and pray he is the real deal. Something that can reasonably be deduced from our returning with a second bid for Kevin is that the player hasn't rejected us out of hand (as was stated in at least one media report I saw). He must surely have expressed some interest in our approach.

Even if nothing ultimately comes of this, at least those who were annoyed, surprised, dismayed or whatever at the Club's seeming incompetence in bidding for someone who had no desire to join us can be reassured.

The guys 22, incredible stats, super fast, skillfull, rated by his clubs fanbase highly, scoring in champions league and Europa, hasn't had a bad injury record outside of this...and all you come here to say is he's not as good as Oscar Bobb and the club are making a huge mistake.

It's one thing to have some concerns (completely fine and legit if it's based on injury) another to completely ignore anything postive about the possibilities here

Meniscus can be very bad as well I believe but depends how bad a meniscus injury.

Yeah, that's worse to me if it's a meniscus. Your not going to have a clean medical this window and at that price the risk is high. If he has it repaired AND a clean report in 6 months, then maybe. It's probably going to limit the ceiling on his future sale value too if he ends up with knee surgery.
