An Italian newspaper says they think they can do a deal at €40m which is less than the £35m we turned down for Muniz at current exchange rates from Leeds

I know - it is laughable!  :slap: Sadly, some people appear to believe it.

I think it's definitely real that Atalanta want him, but yeah agree that it's extremely unlikely we would sell at that price.

Especially considering we'd only actually get 75% of that!

I've no doubt there's a host of clubs interested. I just found the link suggesting we'd strike a deal at a similar price we turned Leeds down for, and the whole conjecture about asking not to play when we had a BCD's game on as well, all really shoddy journalism which is largely the cause of some of the alarm this morning.

Depends if it a % of the profit we make or on total sale. I would imagine it's on the profile. I can't remember what we signed him for but what ever way it is a sizeable chunk to lose

Quote from: SerbianLad on August 11, 2025, 11:01:59 AMI'm probably in minority, but I prefer someone like Taremi or Sadiq to someone like Romulo or Pepi. We need someone who'll be comfortable with being 3rd choice which means they'll probably be out of the squad completely in a lot of games. It also saves money that we can spend elsewhere where there's greater need of signing a player.
According to Capology Taremi is on more than 100k EUR pw at Inter, that's a hell of a lot for a third choice, especially if we're supposedly worried about SCR. And surely he wouldn't take a pay cut of more than 40%?
Of course, it goes without question that the deal would need to be right for us financially. Whether we can get Taremi to agree to a pay cut or we get someone else in similar mould is less important. I just don't think we should spend big on a striker who would expect to be first choice. Either get someone who's getting near the end of their career or someone who's really young, as those type of players are more likely to be okay with being left out of the squad in some games.
Agree that we wouldn't want to spend big, but if Muniz goes it feels as if we'll need to.
Well then that's a completely different situation. Then striker becomes our priority position.

Rumours circulating from Italy on social media that Muniz asked to be left out of the game at the weekend, did anyone find out the line up from the earlier game.

He wasn't on bench either
So we are selling Castagne, Adama, ESR, Andreas, Diop, Lecomte, Cuenca, Reed, Ridgeon and Godo too. Since none of them were in the starting 11 or the bench either. I'm 99% sure Muniz played in that other game, like the rest of these players I've mentioned. These people just want to get interactions on social media.

Let me clarify I'm not saying this means he's gone or that any of the others are either. I was just answering the posters question.

By the way, Reed, ESR and Pereria were in fact on the bench
No, they weren't.

And a lot of people online say that Muniz was in the stadium too. They were there to watch the game. Maybe they technically speaking sat on the bench, but they weren't on the bench in a sense that they were able to come on the pitch.

From what I heard those who were not playing, but were in attendance, they played in a behind closed doors friendly with Frankfurt in the morning. How true that is I have no idea

Seems a good deal for Forest.

They sold Retegui for 65m and they think they can buy a proven Premiership striker like Muniz for half of that sum. SMH

I didn't like Muniz' body language. Would suggest that the statement about him requesting to not be involved might be factual.

Yeah, this one has the potential to really hurt.

From what I've been passed on Muniz didn't play the BCD game & he wasn't with rest of the squad in the stadium to watch the 2nd game.

I hope it's not true DSTM

I can't speak for his involvement in the BCD game, but he was definitely at the Cottage in the afternoon to watch the 2nd game

Also if he played in the earlier game maybe he was just knackered, feeling bit off colour, I never take much notice of so called body language.

well that's relieving to hear. I'll be sure to pass that on. Did you see him there then?

I hope this wasn't passed on by your regular contact as it's demonstratively false based on numerous eye contacts on this forums and the discord.

Does seem plausible that if they wanted him they'd be a more attractive proposition given the amount of game time he'd be able to expect from day one
