Targeting another winger as well but likely closer to Deadline. Nelson/Sterling still very much in the frame.

8 is also a target but not as pressing. They will see what comes available.

Good chance Muniz goes and Fulham could spend around £80m/£90m off the back of it with the bulk on Kevin.

Taremi not really a "Muniz replacement" then if we are likely to spend that money on another striker to go with him? We were linked with him all window long before Muniz to Atlanta came about so seems we were going to pick him up regardless and we were already looking for a third striker. If one is Taremi then the other will presumably be slightly younger if Romulo link is anything to go by. Think such a statement might stir up a couple on here though so well done 🤣 🎣

Suprised AP hasn't really been linked solidly with a move away this window but then he had a poor year comparitively so maybe interest has dried up for him there. If we bring in an 8 I think he'll want a late move out cos he's barely gonna play if that happens and it's going into a world cup year.

Probably don't spend much energy regretting it now based of of a half cooked rumour that also says well spend it on Kevin, but also if we sell it well probs spend 90m

To add to this, as I recall we all said similar about raul jiminez and actually turned out he's been great for us.

It's still a risk and one therefore that should be negotiated. He's untested in the top leagues.

We got other players to buy with a finite budget + We are already offering a club record fee here it's not like we're not pushing the boat out already

That's poor from us as a club if true. Doesn't solve anything for us, and if anything makes the problem worse imo.

True but when you make several bids and keep getting rejected (when the selling club already listed their price) you run the risk of the seller pulling out and wasting several days/weeks or getting gazumped by another club, days you could have spent on another target. And when you're 2.5 weeks away from the window closing, every day counts.

I'll wait until the end of the window to pass judgement on transfers, but if Muniz does go, it will mean we need two Strikers in my opinion.
