So we need Kevin (LW), plus a 3rd striker (Taremi? Seems the reports of Hoijlund are wide of the mark), another winger (Nelson?, or a player who fulfils both briefs such as Sterling/Maeda), maybe a CM.

That would be my take although preferably all under 25.

For a normal club that would be a fairly straightforward window but not sure I can see us getting all that done in what's left of the window now.

The only way Muniz should be allowed to leave is if we've already agreed a deal for a replacement. Someone like Højlund. Otherwise he must stay.

If we can turn I think we should just go get Sterling as soon as we can. If it doesn't work out then he just replaces Willian as a third option, but if he does work out we have a proper player on our hands.

I don't think King should start every game and I don't think he will. Marco will probably rest him for the odd league game in three but maybe keep him in the staring line-up for cup games. I think to start around 25-30 games (tops) is about right for his first full season as a member of the first team squad. Hopefully that way it keeps him fresh for the entire season.

As refreshing as King is, he also has to be judged on output, so if he looks good but doesn't meaningfully contribute in the form of goals and assists, as a no. 10 his place should be under threat.

He was our best player he turned and went forwards at every opportunity should have been given 2 penalties and played with tempo and energy.  Also was on the end of a couple of bad tackles and roughed up but he dusted himself down and got on with it if we had just bought him it would have been a very encouraging debut.  I understand your reservations of playing him ever week he will have bad games but that is all part of the learning process.  I thought he did very well even up against a so called beast that is valued at over a 100 million.

Unpopular opinion perhaps.....But I think Bergvall will be more important to that Spurs side than Palinha this season.

FWIW this feels like someone's feeding him the info, especially given it would have to be £40m rather than €40m because even we aren't stupid enough to sell him for €32m profit knowing that €8m of that goes to Flamengo and leaves us with £25m to sign two strikers. Now if it's over £40m you could say that Taremi, Maeda & Kevin could be purchased with that sum, and leftover money goes into Nelson/Sterling and a #8 and all of a sudden we've got three new wingers, two players for a centre forward role and the midfielder we need, but I'd be nervous about filling all the gaps in time

Agreed, King had a fantastic game. The fact that he stood out as our best player in an overall average performance from us makes it even more impressive. In the pre-season games I though his decision-making was poor on a couple of occasions, but I guess that's to be expected from an 18 year old. If he can avoid any serious injuries he will only get better with more experience.

So it's £25m for a Muniz replacement and the option of also offering the selling club a 20% sell-on without being any worse off.

Sorry I've realised the wording wasn't super clear. I wasn't trying to infer that £25m would be spent on two strikers, as I'm under a working assumption we'll sign Taremi either way. It's more just a statement that we'd be £25m better off but still requiring two strikers to sign given Silva wants 3 - also why I'd made reference to Maeda because Celtic have quoted £25m for him, and he's handy at both LW and as a striker so you can kill 2 birds with one stone in that respect

For Atalanta,  Euro 20 Million is a good deal for Krstovic, really hard working striker who drops deep almost as an extra attacking midfield , he's not really getting consistent supply at Lecce but still finds the back of the net, would have been happy to see him here , his workrate fits right into Silva's style of play

Latest report from the same Rudy Galetti is that Lookman may end up staying with Atalanta as the 'Milan option is off'. So, I can't see where they can get the money to buy Muniz now.

I don't think they were ever going to offer us what we want anyway. They push clubs to buy their players really cheap (like Lookman at £10m) - and then try to sell for much higher after a couple of seasons when they are at their peak. Nothing against that, but Fulham should hold firm and not be coerced. Atalanta obviously want to get Muniz for £35m, so they have the opportunity to sell him for £50m plus in 1-2 seasons. According to Transfermarkt - they have only ever once paid over £25m for a player.

I think where this will end up...

Muniz stays because we don't find a suitable replacement. Ball is in our court as it was with JP because we get to decide if a replacement is suitable and we can go to anyone who showed late and tell them if you have that much interest you should have moved earlier.

Kevin... Comes to Fulham, his agent seems very motivated, both teams have shown willingness to move a little on fee.

3rd choice striker, this will either not come or come very late like last day.

Nelson, only if Kevin doesn't happen.

CM, unlikely unless we find someone we think is undervalued like a Cuenca type.
