Kev on for 2nd half
Wouldn't it just be Fulhamish if he got injured again  :slap:
Came on at start of second half & completed 90 minutes. Shakhtar drew 1-1.

Blimey, that was a long half!  :slap:

Couple of injuries and 37 substitutions

Highlights of the Shakhtar match. He looked good from this and the injury certainly doesn't seem to be an issue:

His crosses looks miles better than any Fulham player can do, but I bet you were were never in for this player

Yeah if you can get him one on one he can skin folk and deliver. I think it's pretty safe to say we are in for him mate. Romano has posted it a number of times and unlikely that his whole team coming to London to try and sort a deal is made up. Not impossible but unlikely. Supposedly they won't budge on the price but he wants to come. We'll see.

This Kevin saga may well be the acid test for our transfer market competence. It's a young player from outside the PL that would really improve us. Not sure any of our other links tick even two of those boxes let alone all three. Reports consistently say the asking price isn't far from our valuation and the player is keen on the move, so, given we're not spending money across the rest of the team, we should be able to afford whatever it takes to get this done. If our strategy of assuming the selling team will fold at the last moment prevails, fine. If not, it really will be a conclusive indictment of our negotiation technique (if we haven't reached that point already) and those that drive it (TK/AM) because they'll never go into a window with less to do and lower expectations than we have this summer.

Another example of us just being bad at doing business. Could have got at least double that off Marseille last Summer and invested it straight into a younger upgrade in midfield.

I agree, but if Marco didn't want to sell him what was the club supposed to do?

I agree with Moussa. Who, exactly, is 'us'? At £20M-plus, I can quite imagine Ali Mac would have been keen to offload. If so, it would mean Marco vetoed the deal. Either the Club gives the manager final say as to whom we buy and sell (which seems to be the preferred choice of the majority of supporters) or it hands the responsibility to someone who is less qualified to determine the role of players within the manager's footballing plans but is better at looking upon them as financial commodities. Whichever it is, hindsight is always likely to show neither one is perfect.

Exactly.
I mean it's not that old either but it does feel like we're nigh on incapable of finding or signing players who haven't peaked yet and will actually get better at Fulham.
Yes Bassey and Muniz but that's a rate of one every couple of years when really 70-80% of our signings should fall into that bracket.

Good point Alfie. I'll settle down.

Needs to be 20 stone to be able to get his name on his shirt!

That is the role a DoF is supposed to have. Silva has more influence than the vast majority of managers in the premier league.

Silva keeps complaining about losing so many players every window when we average something like one first team player lost per summer (Mitro, Tosin and then Palhinha). The rest have been youngsters like Stansfield or backup players like BDR, Rodak and Odoi.

The list of what we want shrinks the closer we get to the end of the window.

Centre Mid, 2 wingers & 1 striker now shrunk to 2 x attackers. Think Marco gets asked during these Khan visits what he desperately needs and we put all our eggs in that basket. Common theme every summer since we've been promoted. I can remember Marco saying a few weeks before the 2022 window closed he wanted an extra midfielder but on deadline day we focused on Dan James because of Kluivert falling through & Vinicius as back up to Mitro

Pereira who I like didn't play like a 20 million player last season. is Kevin turning into this seasons Andre? more than likely end up at Wolves has well.

General

Perhaps we sell Pereira to allow us to go up in price for Kevin?

With ESR, King and arguably Iwobi who can all play AM, we don't really need 4 players. Bring in Kevin who add youth/dynamism etc.

Would still leave us short though numbers wise.

It's going to have to be a very busy next 9 days if the club are going to get all the business Marco wants to get done, done.

So dumb of the club to leave it late, it becomes such a risky strategy on a number of levels.

Silva also put Wilson in the middle last game, so he likely sees him as an option too.

If we get more cover on the wings then we don't really need to replace AP as a 10, but we would still be short in CM where AP was the first backup last season. He didn't perform well in that role though, so we'd probably need a different player there anyway.

Rambler

Someone should create a large banner for Man U game that just says 'Where's Kevin?'

Should rustle a few feathers

Looking through the Twitter comments most comments are they'd be glad to see him go. Inconsistent and just a back up to Pulisic
