Quote from: Nick Bateman on August 27, 2025, 08:39:50 PMI was going to post a new topic about whether Fulham should make a move for Wolves' forward Strand, but I didn't want to start another thread.

They rejected a £55m bid from Newcastle, there's no way we we're paying more. It's a no-go.

I think that joke went straight over your head demeant0r, I though Nick, appreciated it

I just re-read it and it gave me a chuckle  :cheesy:

So we are looking at 4 incoming players then if Andreas leaves.

I saw something online about us being linked with Hayden Hackney, perhaps he is the Andreas replacement.

If we sign, Kevin, Mainoo, Sterling and Hayden that would be a pretty impressive end to the window. Through Jamie Vardy in as a free transfer and I would be very happy. It will be an interesting few days - I'm sure the club will get it right.

Highly unlikely we sign 2 CMs

It'll be chuk + 1 (Kevin/nelson/sterling)
+ A CM
+ Hopefully a third striking option unless we plan to promote loupolo bi

If we bring in 2 wingers Iwobi can offer further competition at the 8 so don't think we really necessarily need 2 there

Hayden can play as an attacking midfielder as well and he's not to dissimilar to Andrea's from what I've seen. And if the manager says we need an Andreas replacement then I guess we can do two midfielders

I asked my friend Mr Chat GPT what % chance he'd give all the players we've been linked with actually joining Fulham by September.

This was his reply:

Kevin High (70-80%)
Chukweze Very high (80-90%)
Nelson Low (20-30%)
Sterling Moderate (40-50%)
Taremi Moderate-High (65-75%)
Mainoo Very Low (5-10%)
Hackney Moderate (50-60%)

I expect there are a number of ongoing discussions for players that aren't in the public domain yet because we've not put in a bid or the club(s)/agent haven't leaked to the press.

I expect to see several out of the blue transfer rumours in the coming days. Hopefully for hot young talents rather than signing mid thirties players on a free transfer.

Given we are currently at 21 first team players (excluding Godo and with King as an extra option), it is not unreasonable to target 4 new faces if AP leaves. Even that doesn't get us to the 25 player limit.

I Reckon we will be doing well to add 3 players before the Deadline maybe Loan Signings

Lighthouse

There will three signings incoming. Loan possibly for a view to a permanent. But that is more to do with the timing. Also two lesser signings also possible.

Cosmo Smallpiece has insider knowledge and I can guarantee he is in prison, sorry in the know.

Five days to go.

The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Chuku, Kev, Hackney and Willian on a free. Solid window.

I think we're looking to sign 3 players, based on this(towards the end) :

Maybe Marco misspoke, but to me it sounds like we're getting a midfielder only if Andreas leaves and then two players in the attack.

This was Silva two weeks ago before we were talking about Perreira going:

"We hope we can strengthen the squad in the three or four positions we need to before the first game"

So if Perreira goes it's 4-5 required

With Dilane Bakwa , while as a youth player he has played both wings but his current Manager Liam Rosenior ( yes that Liam ) has developed him as a right side midfielder where he's done well , was a France Under-21 squad member, we would need to up our valuation but no long term loss if we spend he's only 23

But since then, he's said 2-3 and now he's said what I just posted in that post match interview.

Think Marcos was originally saying Hed like
LW-RW-CF , with CM if possible and/or needed.

If Andreas goes I think it just confirms he feels we need a CM signing, doesnt mean we then need a 5th. I think when talking about this summer most of us felt we should sell one of AP/Reed and replace with better rather than adding an extra number there. With Ridgeon on the horizon Id be surprised if we'll get two in there.

Didn't seem to me he said two in attack. Thought he just said we are a short for numbers "in the front line", and if AP leaves then in his position too.

Please for the love of god can we move on from Willian now. There are other players in the world that exist.

The way he said it makes me think it is more than one. He said we are short in certain positions (i.e. more than one), then he says if Andreas leaves it is another position we need to strenghten(which I would think means on top of the positions we already need) and then he mentions the front line (not right winger or left winger or striker, which to me, combined with what I previously wrote in the brackets sounds like more than one player in the "front line"). Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I think it is at least 2 players in the three attacking positions + a midfielder if AP leaves.
