"RB Leipzig have made an approach to sign Chelsea attacker Tyrique George.
It's only early dialogue and involved multiple moving parts but George has long been a target for Leipzig and was already subject to negotiations between the two clubs earlier in the transfer window.

So strange to think we've been haggling over pennies for players, left it so late and now seem to be crawling over the finish line, to then apparently be happily willing to spend £20m+ on a teenager who's unproven. Where's the sense in that?

Sterling - would be however much for a loan? With option to perm..?

Reiss Nelson is more proven than he is, and he's got an apparent £15m price tag, yet knows the squad, Marco wanted him back..

Why is this such a messy and nonsensical window.

Feels like TK and the transfer team have overthought this in a neurotic manner to the point it makes little sense.

And that's without taking into account that we've sold Pereira and Godo for £15m+..

22 million... Chelsea knowing our desperate situation this close to the end of the window, he's english and only 19 ... This is the same Chelsea that wanted 70 million for jackson.

It seems a very low fee which is suspect, I reckon he's not very good.

22m is rather steep for someone with limited first team game time and I hate giving Chelsea any money. But he looks tidy enough.

Let's not forget George scored against us from 20 yards last season. He's definitely not useless. We could use a player or two that actually shoot from that range.

And that was his only goal.

Do I prefer Godo or George? George, at this stage of their respective careers, definitely. But it's not a straight swap. We will reportedly pay about 15 million more for him than what we will reportedly get for Godo. At those prices, I'd have rather kept Godo.

I liked the sound of Chukwueze (even though the reported sum was a bit over what he is worth imo) and Kevin, but I don't like George + Chukwueze/Kevin. I'd be extremely disappointed with that.

We are a joke club, literally just scatter gun approach now to who is potentially available and who we can try get on the cheap.
Even with Kevin and that Milan chap it will have been a poor window.

Leave it late and you may pick up a "bargain" but you also get strong armed by the club, agent and player.

I'm not sure what we do as a club to become more attractive but apart from the fact we are in London, I'm not sure we really have much of an appeal to many players apart from being on the premier league which in turn put them in the spot light to get the move they always want.

Shambles springs to mind after last season with so much promise and I don't like to read to much into things but there is a reason when the owners are acting like this and lack of money is not one of them.

So assuming all three deals are happening, we're ok with spending the best part of £80m on three wingers in one day? Not looking at any other part of the squad (eg. central midfield)?

Is that possible, is that why the Chuk deal went from permanent to loan with obligation to lan with option?
