Very dissapooining to be going another half a season with very little striker options of any quality or a Cm in a push for Europe,

Quote from: Deeping_white on February 02, 2026, 09:06:23 AMPepi is injured for a month and PSV allegedly needed a replacement for himm now, despite knowing that we were likely to do a deal with them and the fact they're SEVENTEEN points ahead of second in their league + out of the CL. Can't blame FFC on this one as we've consistently bid more than he's worth all month, PSV just kept coming up with excuses and moving the goalposts as to why they wouldn't sell him, so best of luck to them trying to get £20m in the next 12 months when he doesn't set the world alight

Agree, this deal not going through has nothing to do with how fulham approached making the deal the reason is purely down to PSV but no doubt the TK haters will still blame him 🙄

Quote from: hopper on February 02, 2026, 09:46:50 AMI am a bit disappointed this deal collapsed - I liked the look of Pepi, and it kind of leaves us at square one.

I think the discussion about leaving it too late does rear it's head again, we have been negotiating for a while but it's only very late we've met the valuation. Whilst PSV could have looked at targets, there's also a knock on effect of clubs needing to sell someone last minute they may not have wanted to etc.
Always knock on effects, but you plan surely or you would never sign anyone on deadline day or just before. Whilst it's late we have been negotiating, reports suggested they wanted 45 million euros earlier euros at the start of the negotiations and we offered around 28million so we have met half way.

I know we are bad at times but I am not sure this is 100% on the club this time

Precisely, however as you say and a lot of us know you cannot educate pork.

I heard he was 3rd choice, the Korean lad that is. As long as we sign someone Marco wants then all is ok I guess. John Duran anyone, think I saw somewhere that he is available.

We have done well this season. But you can see why Marco gets frustrated.I do feel we lack a bit of ambition we needed to push on.

Unfortunately due to PSR ambition and financial availability don't always align

Sadly that is true

We bid €37m on someone who was worth maybe €25m at a push, can't fault the club for trying

The Cravenette

Surely if Marco and the club are that keen on Pepi we will make a deal for him to come in the summer. I am not sure getting in another 2nd/3rd/4th choice striker now is totally necessary if we can go back for Pepi in the summer.

Maybe true but if Marco leaves then maybe we don't go back for him as the new manager may not want him?

Maybe getting Pepi keeps Marco who knows. Personally I thought we needed a CM and a striker for the last part of the season. Muniz not fit to play yet, may pick up a niggle on return as sometimes happens, Raul was limping yesterday. We need a box to box player as well. Hopefully we see one or both  happen today.

On a positive note !arco was very pleased with the Bobb signing

fulhamfan

dodged a bullet there

has a broken arm and is out for 2 months anyway

F(f)CUK

If Pepe is definitely the one that we want, why are we not signing him and then loaning him back to PSV? I assume that we think that there will be other options in the summer or we might get a better fee (in the same way that Bayern paid less for Palhinha in the summer than they had supposedly offered in January.)

demeant0r

No idea if this has been posted, but this is from BBC today:

Fulham have rejected an enquiry from Everton for midfielder Harry Wilson.

The approach is understood to have arrived last week but was turned down by the Cottagers.

Wilson is out of contract in the summer, when he can leave for nothing, but Fulham are adamant they do not want to sell the 28-year-old this month.

Talks over a new contract are currently on hold, but Fulham want to tie Wilson down to fresh terms.

Geezer on The Wireless just mentioned deal for Pepi might still get done? Might be a case of how long it takes him to trawl through relevant message board's getting his info? Next we will be told Fulham have restructured the deal with a different payment option more suitable to PSV?

Kalvin Phillips, from Man City, is available on loan.
