Silva did a great job for us, just what we needed at the time. But let's take the positives: a chance to hire someone exciting and maybe hit another gear?

Agreed. Booing would in my view be completely embarrassing in light of what he has done for us. It seems people would boo purely on the basis that he has been 'stringing us along', something for which there is zero evidence. Nobody knows what has been discussed behind closed doors

Irrespective of achievements, I think he is an arrogant arseh***. The refusal to tell us his intentions is outrageous. 

The CP and Bmth managers confirming their status giving club and fans time to get used to the change is the way to go.

I don't understand your attitude. Could you please share with us your personal thoughts on your  next job move, or perhaps your plans to move home, or maybe the state of your bank balance or any other private matter? Because clearly we are all entitled to know.

I really couldn't give a damn if you don't understand my attitude towards MS or if you dont understand others.

MS could easily provide his notice of intent like the other managers at CP and Bmth.

Majority of work when someone is leaving they give their notice, hardly an unfair thing to expect our manager to do.

I don't think the Khan's could ever have given Marco enough, he would always want more. They have already spent £100's of millions on Marco sanctioned signings that are unlikely to provide any return value. Purely from a business point of view I would not give him any more money.

Feels like at the end he wanted to buy his way to silverware. I don't think he's gotten the best out of the £100 million we've already spent for him. He has a reputation for rejuvenating player careers but has that really been the case since Boa Morte and Stuart Grey left?

I think there were multiple reasons for us staying up and playing so well in recent years and I think Marco was only a portion of that equation.

No, I'm saying the contract negotiations have been going on for months and Silva has just been hanging on for what seems to be commitments that the Khans may not be willing to honour. If he signs what has been offered already, fine, if he wants gaurantees then the club would need a get out clause if he doesn't produce. Likewise Silva would want gaurantees of financial redress if things don't work out.
Maybe this is the problem, and the Trust is no longer there

Sorry but I don't think you understand the difference between salaried employment and employment under a fixed term contract. As I'm sure you are aware Marco is in the latter situation. Since the contract is fixed for both parties there is absolutely no requirement to give notice (unless they wish to foreshorten their contract in which case they would be in breach anyway). The employee leaves when the contract ends, simples.

Whilst contractually that is correct, I can't think of another case in football where a manager has run down his contract in the way that Marco has without announcing it at least one game before the end of the season that they would be leaving. (Happy to be corrected on this).

Thinking about next season and beyond, I now think the risk that's always there when a new manager is appointed is the lesser worry than reappointing Silva.

It's generally accepted that Silva's main (or only) concern about re-signing is due to the willingness of the owner to match his ambition in rebuilding the team.

If that's the case how are we able to trust Silva to get the best out of the players old and new?

He clearly hasn't inspired the current squad to play with the energy & passion demonstrated in the past.

We know they are capable of better but have been lackluster most of the season so why would we expect Silva to inspire a new squad?

It makes you wonder if the Khan's have even be watching our games of late. We have been utter dross in the last third of the season. Marco has been a good manager for us but we have been very poor in a number of games this season. A change will do both parties some good.
