Quote from: ffc_forever on June 04, 2026, 04:32:12 PMI just read that the football agent Mendes is Marco Silvas agent and he introduced him to Khan way back.

Could Mendes do another manager meet and greet (and also get paid twice) by again saying to Khan Ive Sérgio Conceição, Bruno Lage & Gennaro Gattuso all available...

I think something from left field like that, and also Mendes related, is more likely than any of the other names mentioned so far on here and with the bookies

And Thomas Franks just said he's not returning to management this summer. That's a phew from me.

Yeah, let's get Marco in until his position with Benfica is confirmed ... oh, wait ..
Logical is just in the name - don't expect it has anything to do with my thought process, because I AM the man who sold the world.

Quote from: WindyCity on June 04, 2026, 03:52:15 PMAnyone have idea why Glasner left?  Did nice job there, team won some silverware, always a competitive mid table side.  Not sure why he left, or, why the FFC job would be of appeal.

Read somewhere he found the grind & pressure of PL a bit much. If true he is likely looking to go to a European team you'd think.

Thx.  If that's true, then I suspect the FFC job would be of no interest......
I thought he left primarily because he thought the club wasn't ambitious enough, selling its best assets (Olise, Eze etc) whilst not replacing them properly.
that is what happened I'm told from someone in CP.

Never selling your best players is crazy because you'll rarely have enough room with SCR/PSR to make bigger purchases, something that's happening to us.

Well, notwithstanding whatever is being said about this, Palace seems to be getting things right even after these sales.  Acquiring silverware and Euro play.

Well to balance it out - hopefully Lampard will turn us down as well!  ::scarf::

What a complete surprise!

I think we've probably dodged a bullet with Slot too. Marco had the measure of him, generally speaking if we lost it was having been overwhelmed by gulf in class of players, or their options off the bench.

I really dont want him either. He needs to rebuild his reputation in a club in Europe

Please not Rosenior. Out of his depth at Premier league level. Needs 2 or 3 years to rebuild his reputation in the championship or abroad.

Martin O' Neill is taking Celtic for another season, so that's him out of contention. Think Robbie Keane has gone about his business well so far in management, going to lesser leagues abroad to learn his trade, and get some experience in European competitions, but a PL club is probably too much for him at this stage. I really hope it's not Rosenior. His manner at Chelsea terrified me. A bad start to the season for us could mean relegation.
Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Still would not surprise me if a couple of potential candidates are under the radar. We seem to be a lot more discreet nowadays. If we have earmarked a candidate currently at WC then likely difficult to announce something soon you would imagine? If not you would hope or like to think within the next week we will know next manager.

I hope you're right because I fear McKenna, Lampard and Rosenior would all take us straight back to the championhip. I realise Frank and Slot (it now sounds like neither will be coming) would have been unpopular but I would at least have rated their chances at keeping us where we are and hopefully taking us further forward. The rest of the names associated with us fill me with dread. Hopefully you're right and there are others being spoken to.

The owners and Board are total clowns if they haven't been sounding people out for the last 6 months, so you'd like to think it's all sorted behind the scenes. Then again....

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

I'm not sure how sorted it is if we've approached Slot and been rejected..

Of course that could just be the papers stirring the pot.

As far as I could see, he has just said that he's not interested in a Wedt London job. Doesn't mean we offered it to him.
