It is what it is. I was certainly getting frustrated, but with my logical hat on I have to admit that none of us know what is going on behind the scenes and why these things take as long as they sometimes do. I'm certainly not going to jump to lay blame with TK or the club in general because neither I nor anyone else has a clue what went on.

The post I was addressing referred to the "Here we go" tweet 4-5 days ago. I mean, if they got half a session in today, great, kinda, but it doesn't really mitigate the core issue which is that passage of time and more broadly that this has taken until 3 August.

While a 'Here We Go' tweet is an indicator that a signing is to follow in the near future, as to precisely how soon, it offers no definite time scale. As evidence, therefore, of our recruitment team having been tardy since last Thursday, it couldn't get any flimsier. Even had the Club been able to get the signings rubber-stamped as early as Friday, why fly the pair out to Portugal when Saturday is taken up with a fixture and the squad then returned to London?

The mood on here since it has been made official has generally been one of euphoria. Much as you might wish to rain on the parade with your niggle, may I say it makes not a scrap of difference to me whether our new arrivals should have been 'integrating with the team' prior to Monday morning going by a tweet on X. Compared with how unlikely these signings would have seemed at the end of last season, 'that passage of time' (as you put it) is not a core issue.

With regard to how long it takes to get transfers over the line the important thing is to get it right for all parties. A week here or there over a 5 year (+1 year option) contract is of little importance. We all agree getting, especially, Garcia done a month ago would be ideal but i would rather yesterday's outcome than signing a Troy Parrot early July. Patience is a virtue they say. Lets hope all our signing turn into gold. Congrats TK, AM and the team for getting these over the line.

I got a notification for FotMob that we have signed Roman Suarez as well, can't find anything about him other than he plays in Peru (!) surely some mistake unless we've gone all Brighton?

Since José Mourinho didn't take charge of Real Madrid until July 13 and he is reported to have been keen to keep Gonzalo García, it is perhaps surprising that FFC was able to get a deal was done before their World Cup players returned to training this week.

Can you please explain to us how we "let TC go" when he's under contract? Do we just open a door at Motspur Park and watch players stroll out whilst they have lucrative contracts? My comment isn't just aimed at you (although my disagreement about wanting TC out is), I get frustrated with several posters on here who seem to refuse to understand basic contract law.

FWIW I don't have a problem with that either.
There was a suggestion up the thread, amidst all the justifiable concern that pre-season is now underway and we're weak in several areas, that Garcia and Palacios were already training with the team. My observation was merely that that was unlikely IMO, and didn't mitigate the concern.
Unsurprisingly that triggered a full swarm response from the self-appointed positivity police, who found it offensive, "dense" and me wishing to preemptively "rain on the parade" before it had even started.

But Palacios is a CM. At this point we already have 5 CMs: Berge; Lukic; Palacios; TC; Reed.

But Palacios is a CM. At this point we already have 5 CMs: Berge; Lukic; Palacios; TC; Reed. 

We do, but 2 are DM's (Lukic and Berge) then we have 2 non starters in TC and Reed, both of which need to be moved on to make way for something a bit more exciting.
