Can the club stop Marco leaving his post until the 30th June?

Super Mick

My tea leaves say this will be another excuse to do late transfers business, however this pans out.

Pock

I don't think we need to be too shy about approaching "big" name managers as the owners are/were prepared to make Marco the third best paid manager in the Premier League. That sort of money should attract top coaches.

Pock

The owners are/were prepared to make Marco the third highest paid manager in the Prem. That sort of money should be more than enough to attract really top level coaches, never mind the "size" of the club. It's still Premier League and with definite potential.

If they want to they can insist he sees out his contract. Quite what the point would be I'm not sure?

Also they arent to trigger happy and have learnt from past mistake.

Although in this case they should be controlling this and given Marco a deadline weeks ago and if he hadn't signed announced he would be leaving.

So basically they can't pay him what he wants and it's looking like unless they do or another club comes in, he'll stay with us
Sorry Marco that's not good enough. Whatever happens I think he's seriously damaged his reputation with the fans. Got to the point where I really hope he goes now

Yes it pisses me off too unless this is all newspaper BS

Thailand Mick

I think we should move on but I don't trust anything Abola puts out after the crap they wrote about Kevin joining Porto on deadline day.

Coastwalker

If it's true, don't want him here any longer, using us as a fall back if he can't get another job.
Time to go Marco.

I think a combination of things mean we should say goodbye to Marco.

A back up job for Marco isn't what we should be, and the way this team drops off the last quarter of every season suggests an inability to move to the next level.

The sideways crab like Parker esk football in the last part of the season makes me think it's time to call last orders.

I do appreciate where he has got us and tbf the squad is a dilemma, because I'm not sure if they have performed to their limits or under performed.

I think it's a natural time to part ways amicably with thanks.

SK will wear Silva's shenanigans if he signs in the end.

sarnian

From all his comments over the last six weeks have the feeling he actually wants to stay but need certain guarantees.

bahay18

If he still can't decide after 6 months thinking about it , then I think that answers the question . Club should move on before we blow up the pre season

Maybe they gave him a deadline at the beginning of the season. Maybe the deadline day is Monday 1st June.

hovewhite

Just want it sorted stays or goes I am leaning to him staying but no one knows the clubs offers.

HobGoblin

Want him gone personally,  treating our club like a fall back option.

He wants to go Benfica, we should have him on gardening leave and seek a replacement.

Him crawling back to us with higher salary if he doesn't get his Benfica wish is very poor from the owner.

I'm sure SK will have a limit to what he is prepared to put up with....
But as others have said... we CANNOT lose another whole closed season twiddling our thumbs and relying on 11th hour transfers...
