Also , I would have thought he'd want to have a conversation with a few players when they get back from holiday, before launching into the transfer market. He might want to get see a few others in training and review the strength of the whole squad too. This said, I would also think he's already having people make discrete enquiries about players who might be targets.
Finn and Corked Hat, you are forever part of the family.

How come we are so quiet? Hardly being linked with anyone.

Don't expect anything in the next two weeks. Jol will be unveiled next Tuesday, there won't be new signings until then and I reckon not even during the following days.

Sunderland are set to sign Larsson.
Maxi Rodriguez is to return to Argentina.
Hitzlsperger has left West Ham
Parker will sign for Spurs
Nolan will earn 55k/week at Hammers. Ricardo Fuller and Ricardo Gardner set to join him at Upton Park.
Stoke interested in a swap deal Fuller <---> Carlton Cole
Newcastle have signed Demba Ba.

Hitzlsperger should be someone we are after, he is great.

Out of interest - how bad is Ba's supposed injury that failed him two medicals. He obviously has the tools to be a good player in the prem, but will he be curtailed by injury?

No, I don't think so. He's cheaper because of the injury, though. But on a free, this is an outstanding signing, well done, Alan Pardew. :54:

West Ham are interested in Craig Bellamy.

such a fool for taking that, was very stubborn about the whole contract with Newcastle wanting 5 years. Newcastle offered him that but the last couple of years coming as clauses depending on their league position. Shot himself in the foot a bit

Stoke have made a 13m (!!!) move for Scott Dann.

Oh, and The Porn Brothers want to keep Scott Parker.

Malaga are all set to sign France international Jeremy Toulalan and have completed a deal for Joris Mathijsen.

Sporting Lisboa have signed Netherlands midfielder Stijn Schaars.

elgreenio

Schaars was only €700k aswell, massive shock considering he was their captain.

Menegazzo from Bordeaux to Al Shabab (money money money).

Kevin De Bruyne (who some mentioned as being linked to us iirc) has said to Belgian media (sipwell confirm?) he's thought about his future and wishes to move on, primarily thinking of Chelsea. Saying that he wouldn't mind using Anderlecht as a stepping stone (i.e. signing for Chelsea and being loaned straight to Anderlecht), though Genk would obviously be reluctant to that.

West Ham are set to sign Leeds star Max Gradel and Yakubu Aiyegbeni. Deals for Ricardo Fuller and Anthony Gardner are also in the pipeline.

Newcastle want to sell Nile Ranger and Leon Best.

Meanwhile, Demba Ba has failed his third successive medical. His first at Stoke, the second in Newham and the latest at Newcastle. Nevertheless, he has joined them on a three-year deal. Just confirmed.

Unbelievable, three medicals? What is wrong with him?

Surely one day his injury will just reoccur and it will be career over?

I would like to petition the Fulham front office to purchase only players whose names:

a. are spelled correctly in their contract AND
b. can be spelled correctly by a reasonably educated yank.

I'm still offended by JP not having the ability to wear his REAL last name on his shirt thanks to an idiot at West Ham, not to mention the fact that I have NEVER spelled KG's first or last names correctly. His middle name, "Evidence," was a snap.  089.gif

I have never been able to spell the Aussie keepers name. So i reckon we should sell him and get Stockdale in.

I can relate to that and would be fine with Stockdale provided we have a fridge that can be locked and Mr Freddy promises not to bring any sausages to Motspur in a spare moment.
