Good TV Shows

An old show but I'm really enjoying it is Spooks. Got Season 1+2 from CEX for like £10. Would recommend it for sure!

I have not seen any of the programmes on either of these lists but do not feel I am missing anything.

Well, I would say you have missed a lot if you haven't seen Mad Men. It's not just some TV series, it's like a long movie cut into pieces that you can't get enough of. Don't worry, it doesn't look like an American production that much. ;)

Mad Men is the best looking show ive seen. Theres not a whole lot of action really, but it looks amazing. Very authentic looking

I have recently enjoyed Boardwalk Empire a lot. The show however is sometimes a bit too slow, but their depiction of Atlantic City in the twenties is very well done and very well researched.

Ripper Street is the full name. I've found it brilliant

The problem with Game of Thrones is that we've had to wait a year for the 3rd season. I made the 'mistake' of watching 1 & 2 in 2-3 days, only to be pee'd off because I had to wait a whole year for more!

You should try reading the books! I waited 2 years for the last one to come out (He actually took about 5 to write it but I only discovered the series about 3 years ago). The next book hopefully won't take another 5 years!

But the series is excellent and Peter Dinklage is a fine actor. They've chopped and changed the book a little(for example, Renly, Loras and Margaery offer of threesome - WTF?!), but I guess that was to be expected...

Dragons, wizards and knights in shining armour isn'tusually my cup of tea but about 100 pages in to the first of the books, I was hooked.

I've just read the first book, haven't seen the series as it's a bit dear to buy at the moment. I'm working out whether to get the next book in the series as there seems to be loads of them

I use to watch American programmes when I was young mainly westerns but British television produces so much good stuff and our humour is so different.  I  watched Cheers for a while as a soap opera but never found anything funny about it.  I avoid most US comedy films as well for the same reason.

there are 5 so far, you can pick them up for about £3 each on amazon... The next one (Clash of Kings) was my favourite in the series... Great ending to the first book, did not see that coming! After reading the whole series, I did a re-read from the beginning and it was much better the second time, as I had better understanding of the houses and their links & characters. All the Sers get a little confusing!

Cheers is absolutely great. A real laugh out loud comedy. Currently loving the daily repeats on ITV4.

If you want Scandi drama - the Bridge (Bron) is an absolute MUST.  Corking stuff.
If you want light-hearted US cop stuff - Castle.  Can't get enough.
If you want new US comedy - The Big Bang Theory - humour for the thinking person.
If you want old US comedy - Frasier - never gets old.

I'd take you down the road of some of my favourite Sci-Fi stuff too but I'm afraid that I'd put you all off.

I think Homeland is just brilliant, and of course Breaking Bad. The first season of Prison Break is pretty entertaining too, in my opinion.
