John Noble (who played Denethor in LOTR: The Return of The King), is playing possibly the greatest character to ever have been put on television. It's utterly superb mate!

Surprised nobody's mentioned Mrs Brown's Boys.  Its feckin' brilliant.

I second this.

Fringe is right up there with the best shows I've seen in the past 10 years.

It's along with Breaking Bad, game o thrones and the walking dead for me.

Currently my queue includes justified, oz and working through life on mars. There's loads more, too.

As for fringe, John noble deserves any award going for his performance. Indeed the main cast are all top class actors. Fantastic show and somehow gets better season on season.

Never watch cartoons as they are for kids.  My son is always saying their are a lot of adult cartoon but that is just lazy or cheapskate.  If you have something serious to say use actors playing as people not cartoon version of them.

I would have to disagree there. Family guy, American dad,South Park in my opinion aswell as lots of other people's are a million times better than the likes of Mrs Brown's Boys and that's comedy in the same genre as the aforementioned and they use real actors to get their point across. I know I just stated that it was in my opinion that those programs were better, although the success of those respective shows prove that it's not all about having real life actors.

Also the Life and Times of Tim is worth watching. Brilliantly sarcastic. Very British I thought, despite it being American.

i like The Big Bang theory, Cheers and Minder at the moment, two of these series are so old but they really stand up well. Minder is a bit dated in some respects but once you getpast the smoke, boozing and hairstyles it is still great.

My favourite trash TV is Take Me Out. Watch one episode - rubbish. Watch the series and it's genius.

For people watchers like myself this is top class as you see all the worst attributes of both sexes.

The Cartoons are for kids arguement is pretty ridiculous imo

The Simpsons at its peak (Seasons 1-7/8) is the best tv show of all time. Animated or not. Its genius.

Then today there are still quality adult cartoons in The Life and Times of Tim and Archer, Futurama and Beavis & Butthead (New series was great)

Family Guy, American Dad and South Park were all good in their prime but have gone to pot big time.

My favourite though, is King of the Hill. 13 Seasons of consistently great tv. Its a shame it was cancelled

Loved spooks

Loved first 24 box set 1 day and a bit in bed a few J's, coffee and lots of chocolate but then tried the second straight after and couldn't do it.

Sherlock excellent.

Like Whitechapel and also liking Ripper Street.

Very much enjoyed The Hour and used to enjoy Foyles War.

Seen couple of Homelands but decided to stop and watch from series 1 so i can get the whole story. Interesting shows being noted on the thread and looking forward to trying a few of them.

Must admit been watching minder a bit lately, very well written with great characters and full of humour.

Comedy wise i'm enjoying Mrs Browns Boys at the moment but also like IT Crowd and Not Going Out

It's funny because I actually think Lost has a good premise, although I've tried twice and failed twice just trying to finish the first season.

Thats what I thought when I started re-watching it. Turned out I got so addicted I finished it within 8 weeks!
