http://www.ghanasoccernet.com/derek-boatengs-agents-rubbish-fresh-fulham-talks/

Representatives of Ghana international Derek Boateng have rubbished fresh reports linking the midfielder with a move to Fulham in the summer.

The 29-year-old, who is fighting his Ukrainian club Dnipro at FIFA, was on the verge of joining Greece champions Olympiakos in January.

Reports from the English media this week claimed that Boateng has started negotiations with Fulham over a move in the summer.

But Boateng's representatives say a line of communication has not been opened between Fulham and their client.

The move to England could be sealed quickly for Boateng if Fulham are interested because  the work permit that Cottagers obtained for him in January still valid.

After taking Dnipro to FIFA over breaches in his contract Boateng is now free of his contract, making him a free agent.

Olympiakos are the club most likely to sign the Ghana international.

Boateng is a highly cultured midfielder having toured Europe extensively during his career, turning out for clubs in Germany, Sweden, Israel, Spain and Greece.

Abdisalam Ibrahim: Impressing on loan at Stromsgodset

Sky Sports understands Manchester City face a battle to keep hold of Abdisalam Ibrahim, with a host of Premier League clubs tracking the midfielder.

The 22-year-old has been earning rave reviews at Stromsgodset where he is currently on loan until the end of Norwegian season.

Ibrahim has started all six games this season for Stromsgodset and his performances have been instrumental in helping the club to joint-top of the Eliteserien.

The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton, Fulham and Swansea are all thought to be keeping tabs on Ibrahim's progress and they will continue to monitor his situation over the summer.

Ibrahim is entering the final year of his contract at City and he could be tempted to move on in search of regular first-team football if he fails to establish himself at the Etihad Stadium next season.

Fulham look set to beat off Newcastle for £2m French midfielder Vainqueur

Fulham are set to beat Newcastle to the £2million signing of midfielder William Vainqueur from Standard Liege.

Manager Martin Jol sees the 24-year-old ball winner as the man to add midfield steel to Fulham, who have suffered four defeats in a row. They can guarantee survival by beating Liverpool today.

Vainqueur's agent Nico Vaesen said: 'Fulham's style suits. They've a Dutch coach who likes a passing game.'

Swoop: William Vainqueur (left) could cost Fulham around £2million

Vainqueur was rumoured to be on Newcastle and Southampton's radar in the January transfer window.

Manager Martin Jol is determined his side finish the season with a flourish after a four-match losing streak.

The Cottagers need west London neighbours Chelsea to beat Aston Villa tomorrow before their Barclays Premier League safety is mathematically assured.

Good fit: Vainqueur's agent says the midfielder is suited to Martin Jol's style at Fulham

Whatever the outcome of the match at Villa Park, Jol wants his side to complete the season - fixtures with Liverpool, on Sunday, and Swansea - on a high.

'It was early April that we had 40 points; we had that point against Aston Villa [on April 13],' Jol said.

'I knew it was very important to be on 40 points, when you saw the schedule ahead of us with Chelsea and Arsenal, Newcastle, away games, Everton.

Back: Sascha Riether returns to Fulham's squad for the visit of Liverpool following an ankle problem

'Of course, you can imagine we were a bit concerned, but the 40 points gave us a bit of a cushion.

'It still is a little bit of a cushion, but mathematically we're still not safe yet.'

Sascha Riether and Mladen Petric will be available again for the match with Liverpool on Sunday.

Right-back Riether is back following an ankle problem and forward Petric has recovered from his hamstring injury, but midfielder Steve Sidwell is again suspended.

Schwarzer Going?

There`s an uncomfortable feeling in the air relating to the Fulham future of Mark Schwazer.

Already we`ve offered the inference that Mark`s Fulha career might be coming to an end and now it appears the Aussie keeper is beginning to accept his days are numbered with the keeper remarking about the situation, ahead of the game with Liverpool this afternoon,

"If I am not performing well and someone comes along and play sin your place, I have no problem with that."

"But you know when the signs are there. You know if your future is in doubt - you see it coming."

"If we go our different ways, I`d like to be told if I`m not good enough."

Has something gone on behind the scenes that we`re not party too?

Fulham agree deal to sign Boateng this summer

The Ghana midfielder was the west London club's guest for their recent home match against Reading, when he completed the formalities of a move to Craven Cottage

Fulham have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Derek Boateng in the summer, Goal.com understands.

The Ghana international is set to move to Craven Cottage on a free transfer soon after the transfer window opens to bring an end to the west London club's long pursuit of the player.

Goal.com has learned that Boateng and his representatives were guests of Fulham during their home match against Reading earlier this month, when the formalities of a move were completed.

Fulham had been on the brink of signing the 29-year-old both in January and last summer but the deal fell through on both occasions.

Boateng is believed to have even had a medical at the club's Motspur Park headquarters in January before the Cottagers enlisted lawyers to investigate the legitimacy of his contract with Ukrainian club Dnipro.

Boateng's camp claimed that his deal with Dnipro, who he joined in the summer of 2011, had been annulled but Fulham were unwilling to award him a contract until they received proof that his claim was watertight.

The midfield anchorman has been trainingwith Greek club Olympiacos in recent months while taking his legal battle with Dnipro to Fifa.

Fulham are satisfied that the Ghana international is a free agent and that he is now available for a move to Craven Cottage.

Boateng is set to be confirmed as a Fulham player soon after the Premier League transfer window opens next Monday, when the club are also expected to announce the signing of centre-back Fernando Amorebieta.

Venezulea international Amorebieta has signed a pre-contract with the Londoners and will move to Craven Cottage when his Athletic Bilbao agreement expires at the end of the season.

As revealed by Goal.com last month, Fulham are also confident of wrapping up the signing of Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg for £5 million when their Premier League status for next season is secured.

Bakary Sako On His Way To Fulham

According to Austrian Newspaper Der Standard, Bakary Sako will join Fulham this summer for "a couple of million euros". Bakary Sako, of course, currently plays for Wolves, and by all accounts has been a stand-out player for the club, scoring 9 goals and assisting 11 in his first season at Wolves.

Der Standard had an interview with George Margreitter, current Wolves defender, who said:

"Bakary Sako now goes to Fulham for a couple of million euros"

Sako, Wolves player of the year, plays on the left wing, and joined the club from St Etienne  He is tall for a winger, 5ft 11, and quite young for Fulham, turning 25 back in April. A move surely to reinforce Martin Jol's position as manager, and strengthen our left wing at the same time.

Greek giants Olympiakos are ready to report Derek Boateng and Fulham to FIFA if the English side sign the Ghanaian midfielder, MTNFootball.com has reported.

Olympiakos officials are furious over reports in England that Boateng is on the verge of signing for Fulham and will report the Ghanaian to FIFA.

Insiders from the Greek side have told MTNFootball.com that they already have a one-year deal with Boateng as they await the verdict from FIFA over his legal battle with Dnipro.

But news that the Ghana midfielder was the west London club's guest for their recent home match against Reading having completed the formalities of a move to Craven Cottage has infuriated Olympiakos.

The Greek side are monitoring moves at Fulham before taking their complaint to the world governing body.
