I really think we will sign Rhodes tomorrow, it's gone very quite on him and we have now got rid of 3 forwards over the weekend and today, I think that makes about 14 now out in Jan, so that means we are bringing the wage bill down, so this Greek forward and Rhodes will be our strikers along with Martin!

SG

They have 24 hours to pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat. Given the position the team is in, the quality of football they are playing and the number of players that have gone out on loan, it seems almost unthinkable that they will not bring in some quality signings. Omens though do not look good. Failing to sign any players that it is generally accepted would enhance the team/squad will only serve to consolidate my opinion of Khan's performance since he took over ownership of our club.

Bracken White

Surely building up for an intriguing day tomorrow. Rhodes would show real ambition - but on the face of it, the Greek striker does not appear as good as the departing out of favour Matt Smith - more money, too. Agree that we need to give the guy a chance - but the scenario is an odd one, at this time.

#Olympiacos have reached an agreement with #ffc for Tasos Karamanos. The player will go to London to complete his transfer. #feirense

Just read this on twitter --- In before some absolute 'joker' says the last Greek striker we signed wasn't very good.

A Portuguese bloke I work with who has seen him play many times. doesn't think Karamonas is good enough for Fulham, although he does seem to think that if anyone can get the best out of him, Jok can. But it's all still underwhelming. But we will know if Fulham have any Jackpots up their sleeve by this time tomorrow night.

DEAL DONE: Brighton have signed forward China Akpom from Arsenal on loan until June.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Apprentice to the Maestro

This maybe just a repeat of old news but it is on today's (Tuesday's) football gossip page on the BBC web site:

QuoteVilla boss Steve Bruce says he has received no enquiries about Ross McCormack - who he said missed training because his gates would not open and he could not climb over a relatively small wall - and insisted the striker will continue to train with the club's under-23s until he apologises to him. (Talksport)

Less than twenty three hours to go to those wonderful strikers signing for us.  Pity Akpom has gone to Brighton.....

I had a suspicion this is who we would sign on loan. I'm starting to get worried now. :/

Odd? Overpaying for a risky Greek in January? That's the norm these days.

Is that Chuba Akpoms pornstar sister?

We have rebuffed Boro in their bid for Cairney, Karanka looked decidley miffed yesterday at not getting his targets, if we went for Rhodes will they rebuff us? tit for tat sort of thing.

Overall today will be a busy day for some teams and not others, I am hoping for 2 or 3 in the door today, hopefully signings and not loans. BUt not panic signings thatc ould kill us.

When slav was asked about transfers after the hull game he said that we should be asking Tony Khan, Craig Kline and Ali Mac. From those words it sounds like slav has little to no input in the transfers currently.

I thought those comments were from an old interview? as there was a thread on this the other day and the OP mentioned in the end that someone posted an old link to the old interview

It's not Slav that worries me, he is top man. It's the merchants behind him who wait for the computer to say yes. The ones that make a pigs ear and Slav has to tolerate them, until he decides enough is enough and walks away.

Slav never has had any input to the negotiations with or contracting of players

They have been quite clinical about moving on players he is not going to select during the current and last transfer windows - - so they are not going to sign someone he does not want to have in the squad. That would be a waste of precious FFP funds and they are not going to do that.
It could be better but it's real life and not a fantasy

According to Alan Nixon (Journo) Brentford will go after Bogle if Hogan moves today
