If ESR signs for Fulham FC this will be a quality signing and may encourage other targets to sign because ESR is a step up and it shows ambition and he would be crucial as an AM.

Certainly is a step up. Puts pressure on Pereira as well as personally think that's his best position long term.

Rowe is such a marquee signing for me. Big question marks over the midfield still and how that all flows. Think Traore could have a breakout season in this new exciting setup too if he can keep fit.

Obviously the elephant in the room still is replacing Palinha and how we cope with that. Which is a big elephant but shaping up nicely. Still hold hope we can get Willian for one more year too as we really do have some quality in that front line and he'd be such an asset on that left again with Jedi.

Hopefully the groin surgery sorts out his issues as looks like he's missed a whopping 132 games through injury since the 18/19 season:

Albeit most outlets have him at 40k per week fwiw, only salary sport seems to list the fee you mention for wages.

Feel harsh to drop iwobi. He was very good for us up front and his time at Arsenal I imagine would give him the ability to do well and strike up a good partnership with ESR.

Does make you start to wonder who'd be dropped though, which is a good place to be in. Plus squad rotation is a big thing for us.

I suppose the question I'd ask is whether ESR becomes our Willian replacement or not?

Interestingly Willian's profile is still on the clubs website despite his contract being over and all others have gone from the first team page who've left or had contracts finished.

He needs senior football.

Agreed, could contribute next year ,if he steps up at this level, for what will surely be the swansong of TC or departure of another of Lukic/Reed.

We'll see. I for one hope he does. He's class and just a great outfield option to have. I imagine he'd also be great to bed in ESR too and any other signings like Andre for instance. You never know, he may start actually seeing us a legitimately worth his time.

Yup I agree, shows how stacked we could be if he's struggling to make the team, with how good he was end of last year I'd love to give Adama a run at RW just to have that raw pace, but Iwobi will still be guaranteed game time given he plays across so many midfield positions. Any one of those subbed off or injured would be a change out for Iwobi first. Silva said he didn't look to sign players if they were "back ups" but looked to people who could conceivably be seen in his eyes starters in their own right so lets hope this year its a battle of a truly talented group to claim the starting spots.

Was convinced Sess would be at Palace this year after training but explains why we werent all over FBT at the low price Milan are after. If Sess can get back to his level then what a backup to Robinson we have and someone who can also play LW. Very smart cheap signing.

Much as im sceptical, part of me cant help but be bloody chuffed to see Ryan back home. No better place to rebuild himself, such a shame Luis Boa Morte isnt here to put an arm round him!

Gonna be absolutely rooting for him, one of our own and no pressure or wild expectancy on the cheap. For me that somewhat suggests Willian out the door and a useful low risk gamble for us for squad depth.

Add ESR and were stacked at LW options and a capable attacking LB cover for robinson potentially to (albeit I much prefer him more advanced)

with ESR/Iwobi/Sess
then at CAM also Andreas/ESR/Iwobi/Cairney
Then RW Adama/Wilson/Iwobi

With stansfield also who likes to play wide.

Not usually one for sentimental homecoming-type transfers but this makes perfect sense to me given he's a free agent and we need depth in his position. Also, he's only 24 so still scope for him to improve to get to the top level. Very ambitious perhaps, but maybe a 2-year development plan makes sense for him with one eye on the 2026 World Cup?
