Much as im sceptical, part of me cant help but be bloody chuffed to see Ryan back home. No better place to rebuild himself, such a shame Luis Boa Morte isnt here to put an arm round him!

Gonna be absolutely rooting for him, one of our own and no pressure or wild expectancy on the cheap. For me that somewhat suggests Willian out the door and a useful low risk gamble for us for squad depth.

Add ESR and were stacked at LW options and a capable attacking LB cover for robinson potentially to (albeit I much prefer him more advanced)

with ESR/Iwobi/Sess
then at CAM also Andreas/ESR/Iwobi/Cairney
Then RW Adama/Wilson/Iwobi

With stansfield also who likes to play wide.

I thought ESR plays in the middle typically? Was thinking he is probably the Pereira replacement.

I can only presume Ryan In, means Willian is off the table hence why we moved for a relatively like for like, cheap option to replace?

Not usually one for sentimental homecoming-type transfers but this makes perfect sense to me given he's a free agent and we need depth in his position. Also, he's only 24 so still scope for him to improve to get to the top level. Very ambitious perhaps, but maybe a 2-year development plan makes sense for him with one eye on the 2026 World Cup?

Give RS & ESR have a significant injury profile and Willian albeit it nearly 40 is quite resilient.
 I would expect Willian to be very much an option.

Sessegnon back is left field... signed as an option in case we want width/overlap on the left? But Robinson first choice by miles.

I don't see see as a LB/LWB - I know he played there for us, but I think he's better suited to LW and further up the field. I don't think defensively he's that solid at PL level, though happy to be proven wrong. I think we'd still need a solid LB option to compete with Robinson.

Thanks- good to hear he can at least do both. Issue I've had since Carvalho has departed is a lack of natural backup for Andreas in the 10 role.

Think this one sounds like a very loose link Bove again from Roma (deep lying CM) but nothing concrete sounding.

With Lukic/Reed here already Im not sure its overly necessary but a decent young talent with plenty italian youth team caps.

For what it's worth, I see ESR and Pereira as squad competition if they play in the middle, though expect ESR to be more a left-winger.. I feel Marco's management style is much more a case of utilising the full squad. I feel he's quite good at rotating the squad and giving all the first team decent playing time, minus maybe one or two.

See Tosin for Diop after half a season,.. then playing players who weren't playing regularly in cup games etc. Using players quite consistently when on the bench (like Traore towards end of season).

It'll be much more about how these players do in training and them interchanging seamlessly to fit in, rather than one standing out head and above. Will give us freshness later on in games but without compromising in quality.

At 23, ESR and 24, Sess - are potentially great building blocks for us. Plus Sess coming back, a good sign to youth players coming through like Stansfield and Harris.

Its possible, ESR, andreas, iwobi AND Cairney is certainly alot of CAM options but the first 2 are likely to get plenty game time out wide too. I feel like Andreas could combine really effectively with ESR if they played together but well see. Would rather keep Andreas but if say - it funded a move for Summerville id be all for him moving on for a decent fee.
But that said theres been no rumoured interest for a big deal for Andreas really so doesnt seem likely currently

No, I don't think so. We're light on the left wing, which ESR plays in. I think it's more likely he'll play there. plus perhaps the two will pivot in a flowing three man high midfield including Iwobi.

So Iwobi, Pereira and ESR all pivoting and switching positions throughout the games. Quite an exciting prospect.

Great player and a huge signing for us if we can get him to agree terms. Good age too!

Hopefully the groin surgery sorts out his issues as looks like he's missed a whopping 132 games through injury since the 18/19 season:

That's an average of 22 games per season with the physio... as I say, hopefully the surgery has helped!

Reportedly on about £65k/week at Arsenal: hope we don't have to fork out much more than that to persuade him given the new rules coming in.

Don't get me wrong though, us signing a young English player of this calibre is HUGE. Statement signing and hopefully if we can also net Andre then we really are making moves.

Of course we will have to pay him more than 65 k a week given that he is our record signing and given how much we payed Mitro and Palhinha in wages. To think ESR willing leaves Arsenal and his wage would frankly be naive to think. I bet he is close, if not on, a 100

I think Sess is a fair old way off of the England squad these days!  But it has certainly been an interesting morning if you're a Fulham fan.  ESR would be a cracking signing.

Correct! hence why I said ambitious two year plan- if he rediscovers form at the top level anything's possible, he's only 24.

Haha absolutely but with our lack of Left sided talent in England one can but Dream! 🤣 Silly season after all. I always had reservations about Ryan at this level but my god I would LOVE for him to turn it around here, at 24 there's plenty room to Do so 🤞🏼
