Starting to get the feeling we have no idea who we want to replace Palhinha.

Just looking at everyone who is available, then the one we can negotiate the best deal for will be signed
Or the club do but the media haven't a clue who🤔

Quote from: McBrideOfFrankenstein on July 24, 2024, 01:29:58 AMI was pushing for Summerville last summer and I'd still take him at the higher price. Reminds me of prime Raheem Sterling. And Silva is a much better manager than his last two.

I wouldn't back end of last season he was playing for himself a move and very selfish with his play only passing if he thought he was going to get it back, probably cost leeds promotion because of it

Take him any day of the week.  Think he got frustrated at all the chances he created being missed so tried other options.

I think we're buying more than 1 midfielder. It wouldn't surprise me if we spent big money on a midfielder and brought in Phillips on loan.

would not be the worst thing and don't think it will all be sorted.
Personally 2 midfielders another CB will be a good step forward with manure the opening game.

Please not Phillips. His loan at West Ham went swimmingly well!

Happens every year. At this point I'm not going to stress and just trust we'll pull it out of the bag last minute again.

Just frustrating letting 3 regular players leave and not knowing if we'll get replacements in before preseason

Quote from: Angus Telford on July 24, 2024, 07:32:26 PMEven if Phillips is on loan or for a low fee, his wages will probably make him our highest paid player or  close thereto.

It would stink of a desperate, short-term stopgap when we need the exact opposite - to build for long-term growth.

Fortunately I think this rumour is complete BS anyway.
think this is BS this whole thread but still fun.

I'm happy to go down the pub and find that Ipswich fan who knows Talbot to find out any rumours, thing is, I might not be able to remember the rumours after several pints🍻🍺 :slap:

I have a question. Why is it people feel the need to say the same thing about the same rumour over and over again. Even when clearly they haven't read the previous pages on the same rumour. Can it be too hard to just scroll back and see what others have said before saying the same thing.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I don't understand why we have to read the same thing over and over again just because people haven't bothered to read the previous pages about the same players being suggested. Wish people would just scroll back and........

Higher than Id have wanted ideally but tbh at this point Im just excited about him and would love a statement player in like this to kick things off and ESR would be that. Likely 30m with addons then of true.

Fingers crossed, could be a signing the same day as Raul last year (25th) or a day or so after 🤞🏼

ESR followed by Andre would be a couple of statements certainly and both young exciting prospects. Lets hope we can pull it out the bag

Arsenal fans again all over the comments gutted but wishing him well. Most excited ive been in years about a potential signing in quite a while.

A front 4 of

Traore     Periera.      ESR
                 Muniz

With Iwobi who can step in for any across the midfield

Technical, skillfull, plenty pace. Oof, sign me up

Question is where he'd play. If Pereira stays it will presumably be on the left, alternatively maybe we're expecting him to leave. Either way very exciting signing if it comes off.

James Rodriguez is still a wonderful footballer, but he's crap out of possession. I can't see a world where Silva would want him.

Up to £35 is a lot, but cheaper than MGW was for Forest two years ago (25 + 17 in apparently achievable add ons) and we've been pretty successful at structuring deals sensibly.

I think he starts on the left, and in games where we want to be more attacking or chase, we can play Pereira and ESR as the two 8s behind the striker.

Also, it is planning! Pereira wants to make a step up, and I expect won't sign a new contract for us - his contract is til 26 with an extra year option - so I reckon it is one where we could move him next summer if he has interest/value, and we don't need to worry about signing the replacement.

OMG...massive if true. Believe Ornstein is pretty big on Arsenal stuff but not on Rutzlers page for Fulham yet.

If and it's a big if we can keep this kid fit he could be massive for us. Arsenal fans rate him so highly. Statement signing and shows if we are splashing that on one player this summer is going to be big.

His big season 21/22 he played 15 off the left and scored 8 and assisted 2. Played 12 CAM and scored 3. Seen loads of Arsenal fans suggest he's better off the left. Pretty much guarantee if we get him it's for the left but as above great planning for AP if he ever left. Trying not to get too carried away in case it doesn't happen and in case of more injuries but so exciting if we can pull this off.

Dirty front line if Muniz finds form again. Wilson bagged 2 today as welll. Add Andre behind that and he lives up to expectations. Oh dear I need to calm down.

Yeah, Ornstein is one of the most reliable out there when it comes to transfer stuff in general (and Arsenal in particular). If he's reporting that it's close, it's almost certainly close.

I pray that this is the first domino to fall. I am used to bleak summers with Khaaaaaannn at the helm, but this year has been dire.
