Doesn't look too reliable.. says they're a sky sports news transfer specialist, but they've a number of platforms they're trying to build which look quite amateurish and they also write as if they're aggressively trying to upsell themselves, plus their english isn't that good. They've 19k followers or so on twitter, but hardly any on YouTube, Instagram etc. And the content is a bit odd, much more childish and pursuant of clickbait stuff, especially their YouTube channel.

I think they're either misrepresenting themselves as a sky sports news transfer specialist, or are a self professed one based on watching the channel loads and just mimicking what's out there.

André for me is the priority now. He suits what we were doing yesterday so well and fills the need most. Then we need Mctominay and a RCB at a bare minimum.

Let's see. Fluminense have a match tonight which andré shouldn't need to rest for or miss having not been in the squad for the last match, so if he's missing for a second game, having not been injured the last one, then it's possible that there's been some movement re andré.

How do we know for sure Marco targets one over the other? How would spending 20m+ on LCB when we already have Bassey, who's been brilliant there and doesn't really need upgrading, affect our ability to spend in more important places we can more clearly make improvements.

All targets have to be signed off by all departments so Marco wouldn't have said yes to the Cuenca deal if he didn't believe he had the requisite ability for him to work with. Morato, much as I'd like him too, would cost us far far more and may not even want to come now knowing that Bassey is a nailed-on starter here at LCB at this point. Way too early to judge Cuenca but clearly we have a quality LCB starter as it is,so Cuenca replaces Ream who was hardly stacked with raw pace either and did just fine in the premier league.

Let's not forget though journalists are always 2nd hand or 3rd hand sources in and of themselves, so he may simply not be given accurate or upto date info, or have any reliable first hand sources. Even they can be aggregating snippets of information themselves. Journalistic standards at a high level technically need at least three unrelated sources to verify the same information without prior knowledge of what has been mentioned beforehand.

Realistically speaking I'd hesitate to say that a very very limited number of journalists covering transfers will have that.

You'd essentially need to have close relationships and trust with the transfer teams at both clubs involved, the agent and perhaps the player too. You'd need three of those to align, minimum two to act with any credible certainty, unless you know 1 very reliable source, which may be gained by being a specialist in a particular market - and have good networks with others who are in other markets..

E.g. Bruno andrade? In brasil who was across muniz signing or Fabrizio Romano for Europe.

If the transfer is political or sensitive, then there's going to be even less reliable info, which is where we stand with andré, who's a big asset to Fluminense and a chance for them to get a big fee, he's a big player for them and a fan favourite, plus he'd be a key signing for us but we're with a budget we're trying to manage across a number of other signings. Though we seem to be going down on how much we pay for CBs atm, so maybe that could give us more leeway to get it over the line.

27.5m for a 31 year old wholl be 32 midway through the season. Hmmm,I guess if he gets them into Europe its worth it so thats presumably their thinking but not an insignificant fee at that age at all. Good striker though and main strengths not pace anyway. Well see how he gets on in the prem.

Certainly Happier with 27.5m for Emile than that amount for someone 7years older.

How do we know for sure  Marco does not target one player over another.

You generally get what you pay for, and Fulham need to push the boat out as every single league and cup game is a Cup Final, and it is a long season.
Because if we stand still we will get overtaken, especially as the Premier League overal looks stronger.
Neither the newly promoted clubs or others who were in the mix last season want to be dragged into the relegation zone.
So it is dog eat dog, and survival of the fittest.
Every point has to be earned, every cup round has to be competed, and that only will happen if you have quality players in key positions with quality back up.
You have to have ambition and not be satisfied with just surviving.
Fulham are capable of beating anyone under Silva, but ironically are also capable of losing to anyone.
That is why when you have your backs to the wall on a cold December night somewhere up north in a hostile atmosphere and find yourselves eating dirt.

That is when you find out for sure how many real fighters and warriors and leaders and characters and winners you really have in the team.

So never feel content with what Fulham may already have, as a week in Football is a long time.
 The club like any club has to negotiate player injury, illness, suspensions and a players loss of form, not forgetting the odd sick note who surfaces when his confidence is low.

For a manager it is a minefield out there, an obstacle course from August until May.
Not forgetting referee decisions that can change the course of the game.
So it is best advice to refrain from anyone predicting a scoreline that is fools gold.

So who Fulham may bring in between now and the deadline will have a huge bearing on how successful our season will be.
We still need big guns in key positions.
The most important game is the next one, and look no further.
We have an opportunity to turn Man U over on their own patch.
Can you imagine if we won the impact on morale and confidence that would seep through the club and players from top to bottom, because winning becomes a habit in the same way losing does.
 If the defence is conceding avoidable goals it puts pressure on the forwards to score.
If the forwards are carelessly missing chances, that puts pressure on the defence not to concede.
 That is unnecessary pressure if you want to play without fear, which is why Marcos game management and substitutions are crucial.

This season will be no picnic if we are not prepared and organised.

You either win or you learn.
Friendly or not to win away last night to a European Giant Benfica has given Marco something to build on especially the first half performance, and a clean sheet to boot.
But remember to never stand still because if we do we shall be overtaken.
This new season will be a challenge right from the first ko.
Fulham have to meet it head on with a positive system of play.

It is looking encouraging but Fulham are not quite yet the finished article.

We don't want to be one of the clutch of teams looking over our shoulders do we, that is so boring snd a recipe for failure.

The back and forth over what seems to be around €5m continues.

Fulham are now pushing hard to get McTominay in. Ten hag has accepted the player needs to go so he can get his targets in.

Fulham also progressing in talks for Villa defender Diego Carlos & are now confident a deal can be done before the season starts.
