They've done this twice now. First time was with Willian and we signed him a little later. Then they used Palinhas goal footage against Brighton when we were linked with him which came to no end.....Can't help but think our social media are absolute trolls.

Would make sense, he has no shot at being called up for Brazil again if he is being benched by King. Doubt Silva will want to lose him but if AP pushes for it he may sanction it.

At some point we have to move players on before they lose all their value. He is a decent option but between King and ESR he might get very limited minutes.

We could use that money to reinvest in a younger option that can could compete more in the CM position.

And how much do we think we can get for AP now? I'd assume this only happens if we see one in at CM. So what do we think we can realistically get towards that kitty? 15m? less?

Could have got 20m+ for him last summer I suspect given the marseille reports then, but after another not so hot year his stocks likely down. Rumoured we rejected 16.5m last January from Palmieras.

The Johnson sale balanced their last breach, albeit a few months too late, hence the fine. All this summer's business will amortise over the next few years so be financed by Elanga plus the £200m annual revenue they'll probably get now they're in Europe. Remember the Douglas Luiz fee reported above as an example on a four year contract would only cost £6m per year.

But they're taking on a lot of extra players wages so that needs to be taken into consideration as well beyond the fees. They'll be getting more revenue due to Europe sure, but wouldn't be surprised if they're in breach or at the least sailing close to the wind.

Marinakis is ambitious for sure and will be doing everything he can to get a squad that can win the Europa. He's not content to just make up the numbers.

I agree, I don't dispute that if you add it all up they'll be close to (if not over) the margin. I just think most comments aren't doing that, it tends just to be an oversimplistic "how can they keep spending, they must be in nreaxh of FFP". I think a lot of posts also reference our spending as a benchmark but as I've said previously, I don't reckon we're being held back by FFP at all - we just don't have the appetite to spend.

Based on Serbian Lad's comments we seem to have offered about a quarter of what the lad is worth. I've no idea if the reports are true but if so, it's more like Atalanta making an opening bid of £8-10m for Muniz. I don't think that resets the frame, it just undermines the offeror's credibility at the outset and for the rest of the negotiations.

Speaking objectively here, Dusan Jovanovic is valued at 500k euros on transfermarkt.com so we went in at roughly half his valuation. Seems fine to me.

It was a misplaced whoosh. The takeaway from all this is just that, whilst Transfermarkt valuations tend to undervalue, they do so consistently so are nonetheless a good objective tool for comparing one player to another.
