Someone on TIFF said our main targets are Gabriel Sara, Elijah Adebayo, Pablo Maia, Trevor Chalobah and Jaden Philogene. True or not all of those would be sensible transfers.

Don't know who Pilogene is but the other targets are (or could be) mid-table PL quality or better so that's good.

Jaden Philogene, a left winger from Hull, an ex Villa youngster, had a very good season in the Championship.

With Raul as well we would be known as Rabona Utd!

Not convinced by Chalobah at the reported price, but all the others are good mid-priced targets.  Also enough Brazilians to be believable!

Is Adebayo up to scratch to take us up a level in CF position? I'm not sure but scored a respectable about in a relegated team.

Jaden philogene a little raw but has potential. Prefer some of the other exciting wing options about in Europe but well see.

Chalobah probably a step up on Tosin albeit a spenny one

Maia plenty potential to be a great CM not sure why we'd need him AND Sara though unless we have departures put of Cairney/Reed/Lukic or glaringly, Palhinha

Going off topic here, but come on Twig - just give it a break. No one is trying to change Bassey's gender - it's a forum nickname that is being used jokingly and without any malice. I may be wrong, but don't remember you and the other members that complained about Bassey's nicknname complaining when Mitrovic was called "Metro" and "The Mercenary", nor any comments about converting someone to a bank or an underground station.

Good guess but no.

I actually concur with your view on this subject.
It is one thing calling a bloke with the surname Clarke " Nobby ", or Smith " Smudger ", or Murphy " Spud ".
But for me calling a bloke " Shirley " because his surname is Bassey is a step too far and disrespectful.
If my surname was Bassey and somebody called me Shirley.
I would politely ask them to refrain from calling me what is basically a woman's name.
If they ignored my request, i would be left with no alternative but to leave them hanging upside down from a lamp post.

    Willian seems to have more time than other players just like Berbatov did. I doubt you can teach it but being around it may rub off. I think Robinson is a better player for having Willian in front of him.
   At his age he may be considered a luxury by some but I think he's a necessity. Especially if some of the yoof will be breaking though this season.

28 goals from 120 games in a worse league is not prolific. Not sure we're in a dire need of a striker as we thought we were at the beginning of this season.
