Quote from: LC on June 21, 2024, 10:37:33 PMI just saw on skysports website that Bayern have made another bid for Palhinha and it's thought to be less than £40m.

If so, then we're obviously going to reject it and I'm not sure why they're wasting our and their time. They're also unsettling a player who is currently at the Euros. I personally think it's ridiculous.

I personally think Palhinha will be with us come the start of the season. I think the club need to block out the noise and look at purchasing the players and plan for having him with us next season.

If true that's a joke and a truly ridiculous attempt at lowballing. We reportedly agreed a fee of 55m last year. He has not lost 15m of value in that time. so pay up or shut up. Sick of their entitled fans online aswell. If they don't want to push up to at least 45m at this point they can shove it IMO.
I can just imagine Bayern leaving it late again and with a day to go offering 45m with addons for Joao....at which point, we look like the baddies again and are struggling to replace him in time and can't let him go.

Keep him, buy Chalobah, ESG, Andre/Sucic, another cheaper CB like Mengi, Bollo Toure and a couple attacking loans with options like El Bilal Toure and lets have a bloody good crack at Europe. 100m spent and on we push.

I'm inclined to agree, we need to set a hard sell date, if they can't agree a fee by then he stays.

In terms of incomings, I would like Chalobah, Emile Smith Rowe, and someone to compliment Palhinha in midfield. Combine that with a left sided forward and a centre forward and we're ready to challenge
if that's the best Bayern can do it's to far away from our asking price tell them to do one he's under contract.
Looking at financials thread on this site we have a 51 million budget top whack and it won't get the arsenal targets on this thread and believe we will get additional players from outside of this country.

But fees are amortised over length of contract

The Palhinha transfer cold drag on all summer and hinder our team building for next season, a few Bayern and Fulham heads need banging together.

Not sure what Fulham are doing wrong to warrant their heads banged, it's BM who are p**sing about trying to unsettle JP, and get him on the cheap. I would have thought Fulham have informed JP/agent what they will let him go for.

TK needs to tell BM and the agent this is the price we will accept that's it ,if we haven't done that already.

so it's split over term of contract then.

I thought when Marco said Joao not leaving was a good sign but thinking about it further Marco's hands are probably tied and at the time could hardly say he won't be here next season so close to last season ending plus not one season ticket or Hospitality Box would of even been sold by then??  Coming round now to likelihood he leaves as we will probably hear the player's heart was set on Bayern move last season and he came back and was totally professional to how it panned out then. We have decided it would be wrong to not let him take this opportunity at his age to play for one of the biggest teams in world football. Or something along those lines.
I have no insider knowledge but would guess we are quite far down the road with bringing Andre in finally. Would be nice to have seen both play together for Fulham.

Bang on Alfie. Imagine the outcry if we sold him for 38 million pounds.
How are the Gall Stones progressing? Have you split the atom yet?

Wrong stone matey, Kidney not Gall, as for progression haven't a clue, got ct scan next week, then appointment 2 days later 1st July to find out has been cancelled and rescheduled for 8th August. So have at least month to wait with this dam stent in me, which is so painful when I pee.
I need few weeks in Hua Hin to cheer me up. Next best thing sitting in my garden with one or two Singha's.

TK is sleep walking at this time of year, due to being occupied with his juvenile play acting with men in tights.

He is probably at this moment charting a route back to Craven Cottage as he realised he has forgotten where we are located, and what we actually do.

Little bit unfair Mr Woolley, he hasn't done bad for last couple of seasons.

Going by what Marco Silva has said we don't have FFP constraints this window. The last few windows he's said we have FFP constraints, so something has changed. I doubt we have the full picture, so it's hard to say.

I would be surprised if we only spend £51m this window

My guess is Bayern know we need to strengthen certain positions and we need the Palhinha money to go shopping.
Nothing will change during the course of the Euro's. We'll be hoping he shines and stays injury free, there by attracting more attention. Bayern will be hoping we buckle first and take their offer. Likely outcome a compromise where both Clubs can claim victory.

I had a dream last night that BDR signed a 3-year deal with us, then shortly woke up after. :slap:

Christ mate that's ridiculous. Live in Thailand the Hospitals are top quality and waiting times are minutes rather than hours or days. Sorry i had the gall to get the wrong stone, apologies. I am 76 next month so the brain is about as useful as a one-legged man in an arse kicking contest. Never been to Hua Hin, too many Farang (Foreigners} there.

Be careful what you wish for. We could end up with Eric Dire (sic).

How can Palhinha agree a 5 year contract with them when he is contracted to Fulham.

Somerset Fulham

He didn't, his agent did.

Tapping up doesn't exist anymore.

Agreeing a contract with another club when not given permission and you are on a long contract with your current club is surely not allowed agent or otherwise. Suspect this is bollox being reported.

hovewhite

Tapping up now is part of the norm and accepted now with agents getting more greedy,we can see it with Pàlhinia.
