I really thought we would get this last transfer sorted before the last minute craziness.

Oh well, will be watching the Sky reporter outside Motspur Park tomorrow like everyone else I guess.

It would be nice to bring in another forward player, but if we don't sign anyone I'm okay with that. Realistically we would need someone of real quality to have a significant impact and it's a tough thing to do going into the last day of the transfer market. Marco Silva obviously wants someone so let's see what happens, I'm sure the club will make the right decision.

Ah come on whats a transfer window without a bit of late excitement! Nice that the main business is done and now were down to the last on our list of priorities at the start of the window.

3 players seemingly in play so far for this last position... all look quality additions, lets see where the chips fall and enjoy the drama of it all 😅

Just read john textor who wants to take over Everton already owns a major stake in lyon which might swya things... But also his company owns 45% of crystal palace??! Suprised owners are allowed to be major stakeholders in multiple clubs in the same league?!

Its quite messy, that.  He can't buy anything of Everton until he sells his stake in Palace which are the rules, but Palace don't have the cash to buy him out. I think that is what the fire sale is about, although I believe that Guehi is now staying there for another season.

*as a caveat, that covers January as well, so it's a pretty meaningless fact

All players we've been linked to our Predominantly RW's who can play across the forward line. We lost Willian and BDR - ESR came in and he's more a CAM/LW
So stands to reason the next in is more a right-sided player who can play across the line (like the other player we lost - BDR)

As for an extra player it's certainly not been hinted at by Silva. If it happens and we get another in the door fab but I wouldn't hold ones breath on it. Mentioned this earlier but if our matchday squad is already:

the out subs bench is:

If we sign another attacking player as we intend to that probably pushes Sess or Wilson off the bench.

On paper it looks unlikely we'll bring in more players without an exit which Silva has said he doesn't want. But hey, ya never know I guess and not against it just think we risk ending up with some pretty frustrated players

we have Glamorgan then Middlesex at home in between Gloucester away.
Coming back to tomorrow put 550 ,600 on 1st innings then bowl them out twice game over by Saturday teatime.then back to seeing our forward we have signed on deadline day.

Don't most squads have 3 x goalies? That's where I think we take a loan option?

Yes, but most of the clubs outside the top 6 have 2 then often a more inexperienced youth keeper, manys third options are younger than ours...some have the luxury of having a third rate "does a job" journeyman...but do we know that that's having better than Benda or our youth keepers who should be looking to step up now? The club will know better than us given they see more of them I guess.

We have Leno ,  Benda -  25 years old then Luca Ashby-Hammond who's 23 years old and Borto after him. Not impossible we go after a keeper but not guarantee we bring anything better in to sit on the bench that what we have. People are a bit quick to judge Benda IMO.

It is tbh, especially once we bring in another quality forward player...but as for Reed - what can ya do, someones gotta go...you could drop Sess if you feel Bassey Castagne and Cuenca can cover the LB spot...but that's hardly gonna build up Ryans confidence and levels either. Tough one and a good problem to have, the more you bring in, the more some of those drop even further down the pecking order. I really want King to get more minutes this year tbh too, but that probably means TC doesn't make it in.

If we're having a browse through Lyon's wingers, why not Malick Fofana? Genuine LW who's very two footed with big potential. Sign him on a perm and get Nelson on a loan with an option and our wing depth looks pretty handy
