I'd imagine Silva  won't be too impressed if we sell Stans and only bring in one winger.

Exactly this. We've gone into this day being told that we needed a player in the attacking line, and  presumably Nuamah is that player...and it also frees up Goddo for his loan away. But Jay going is on top of that...and unless we find another striker we only have Muniz and Raul...it's very clearly not enough.

That's not the scenario though is it. Nuamah isn't dependant on Stans money. I appreciate I'm not the clubs accountant, but we've gone over the accounts ad nauseum, and unless theres a second player coming in, its just not the scenario (and makes my initial statement void as we'd have 2 players in).

If he has stated that he would rather leave then he is no player for us and can go, I agree!
It would also show lack of self belief, if true, but I don't think that's so?

I also can't see us playing him on Tuesday to sell him on Friday, to the team we played on Tuesday!? But, hey, stranger things happen!

His body language against Birmingham showed very clearly that he has a strong connection with their fans. I can totally understand why he wants to be a regular starter for them, rather than a Carabao Cup player for us. If the club can get that kind of transfer fee (as pure profit), for a 21 year old player that hasn't even been remotely close to our starting 11... it's a no-brainer really. Win-win for everyone involved IMO.

Stansfield can still turn out to be a player we'll regret letting go. But let's face it, that won't happen unless he gets regular game time. And that probably won't happen if stays with us.

I actually think it's great to see one of our younger players go to a lower division club to get more game time, rather than to sit on the bench for the likes of Liverpool. It shows true character, and hopefully that means he will he a player we WILL regret letting go. As opposed to the likes of greedy, moral cesspits like Mitro...
