Going back to Celtic, agreed months ago

Ah, fair enough. We still need cover for Jedi.

Usually don't tag people with this sort of thing but sadly in this case he really is made of glass. Terrible injury record and never likely to be the same again. On a pay as you play/are fit enough for the squad deal, maybe. But better use of our money and wages

So was ESR and he's okay this season, fitness wise (obviously still need another season to get back to full fitness).

Sess, Castagne, Bassey. That is plenty of cover for a guy who is going to play every game if fit. Nobody worth having is going to want to be AR's backup with so few minutes.

It's why taking a punt on a player like Mills from Peterborough makes sense. He will be cheap and could be loaned out for a season or two.

We could do better than Werner but he is the exact sort of player Silva usually goes for tbh
If anyone can turn his form around it's Silva

hovewhite

Werner if as roumered is the target would add to our quality up front.
Listened to Silva speaking about teams who use the low block as the season went on and how he wants to combat it next season so I am waiting to see how his strategy works.

Willham

I'd actually go for werner,

Back when he was getting flak at Tottenham, I use to feel he got in very good positions and made some good chances.

Obviously his finishing wasn't something to jump and dance about, but I think Tottenham put big pressure on the guy and his confident dropped.

Someone like silva, less pressure of a big team, a homely family feel. I reckon we could get that comfortable confident feeling back!

Can't say I've watched any Saudi league but he has been scoring goals for fun; 47 in 51 games. Saw some highlights and a few very nice goals along the way.

Know the league is a bit of a strange one and a mix of quality players, and many who are at a low level - but think he's performed well seemingly and hasn't gone there to be on the beach. Seems in good shape.

Let's put that into context vs his euros and world cup form since he left us. He's definitely dropped off when compared to more competitive European standards, had also been nursing injuries a bit more and is a bit older.

We should be looking at younger options imo.

Would anyone take Jack Grealish on loan? Is it even possible?

No!

All he does is lean into players and fall down. With a City badge that gets him a foul, FFC on his jersey wouldn't provide the same result.

Serbia are a pretty poor team with a lack of creativity that don't create many chances so think that's hard to call.

I personally don't want him to return, we have two forwards - and I want to see Muniz given the nod. I love Mitro, but don't think it would be good for any party.

He should go to Serie A, rip it up there and become a hero.

Without a second thought.

Re:Werner. I've never been a fan of Werner, even when he was in superb form before coming to the PL, but at that price, I'd definitely take a punt on him. Profile wise, he's exactly what we should be looking for as well. He can play on both wings and as a striker.

Somerset Fulham

Delap has signed for Chelsea on a six year deal.

For that price (and obviously wage dependant) that is a bargain, for Werner.

Craven Mad

Apparently Tanganga is available to prem sides for £1.2m. IMO he'd be an excellent RCB backup if we lose Diop this window.

Werner is an elite dribbler and ball receiver. We all know he's lacked confidence in front of goal, but he could be an excellent addition at the sorts of prices quoted in the press. L

Not the worst idea. Seems pretty versatile and could fill in across defense too.

All day long. Can unlock defences and is unpredictable for the opposition.

Nah not the same level of injury issues in recent history, before buying him, ESR had been relatively fit for the season prior coming back from a bad year, plus is younger...he just wasn't getting playtime

Tierney in last 4 seasons:
160 days injured
103 days
Injury free
116 days

ESR:
27 days
48 days
145 days
18 days

so both had their issue but KT been out for huge chunks of 3 out of 4 seasons

ESR was often labelled "a bit unlucky with injuries" where Tierney gets the "made of glass" label far more regularly

St Eve

No to Werner. Useless at Chelsea and Spurs

Unfortunately, that lot up the road look like they are getting their act together again.  Delap could be the no9 they have been missing.

Wasn't it reported that he'd had some heart problem recently and the Italian FA are strict on not allowing teams to buy players who have had heart problems. Think in an interview Antonee Robinson said his medical at Milan found a heart problem so a possible transfer fell through a few seasons ago.
