He's all wrong for Spurs.

Frank will probably use him properly.

Your taking things out of context now.
Of course not,the whole idea of my original post,is they are getting in the targets they are after.
Yet all you hear about with us is blah  blah...
Nelson signing now gone quiet, other rumours the same
According to an ITK on here,he was practically in the door last week.🤔.

Quote from: WindyCity on July 31, 2025, 03:54:52 PMI have a question about our AFCON bound players (and any we may acquire).
If memory serves, they could be out for as much as a month, maybe 5-6 games.  Ouch!

My question is - - Is one month a lock?  Or could their time away be less should their team(s) be eliminated early on?  Just curious how much to expect away from FFC.

Sidebar - - This is why I really don't like all this International play.  These competitions should be played when there is little or no conflict with club play.  It really is a shame, all these players know which side of their bread is buttered.  Not only time away from club play (their money-maker) but also injury risks.
The AFCON 2026 is from January 13th to February 11th with Nigeria playing on the 14th, 18th and 22nd of January. They are ina group with Rwanda, Lesotho and South Africa. They will get through to the next round. Bassey and Iwobi will be gone as players are expected to be released around December 30, 2025. However, the exact release date can vary based on club agreements and individual circumstances so there is chance they play vs Liverpool on the 3rd but poissible they are finished after Palace and not back for 6 weeks.

I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong tournament.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Africa_Cup_of_Nations

https://www.cafonline.com/caf-africa-cup-of-nations/schedule-results/

AFCON is December 20, 2025 - January 18, 2026

Nigeria's group matches are December 23rd, 27th and 30th in a group with Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania.

My assumption is they would be released after the Burnley match on Dec 13th and not play against Forest on the 20th. If we are in the League Cup quarterfinals which would be on Dec 16th or 17th they could possibly stay for that. Earliest they could be back is Jan 3rd for the Liverpool match if they get eliminated in the groups(not happening) and the latest would be against Brighton on Jan 24th.

Fair chance they miss all of Forest, West Ham, Palace, Liverpool, Chelsea and Leeds plus the FA Cup 3rd round match and the first leg of the League Cup semifinals should we happen to be in that as I would expect Nigeria to make at least the semis and thus the 3rd place game on Jan 17th.

As few as 3 missed matches but up to 8 with the higher end being more likely.
More proof if ever needed that AI is ful of poo. I stand corrected!
Quark, strangeness and charm

Signing poo players for overinflated fees is easier than getting good players without a PSR infraction, who could have guessed it?

Another one who assumes that they've signed poo players.
Well the names we're being linked with aren't exactly world class.
Sterling and Nelson for starters.

Quote from: Coastwalker on July 31, 2025, 05:30:30 PMStrange how a promoted side like Sunderland, seem to be getting every Tom Dick and Harry through the door, another one today.
And we are struggling to get anyone.

Almost like they've signed 20 players who wouldn't get on our bench.

I remember people crying about all the players Ipswich signed too.

Come on now Freibird, there is no question xhaka and adingra would make our bench, and I suspect Reinildo would be good cover for Robbo too. Even for you, this is a bit hyperbolic, no?

Good to see you tone it down on the abuse a little bit since your name change though

He is a professional and if he has the choice of signing for us or playing CL with spurs, you can't blame him for his choice. As much as it's sad it's where he thinks he should be playing

Yes and ESR has great affection for Arsenal I'm sure but if it came down to a penalty kick playing for us that would cost them the league he tries to bury it. These are professional athletes not your best mate.

No idea if any validity but much like our signing of Berge, one of the only good players in a poor team at Southampton - Player of the season there wasn't he? Good young CM. Athletico Madrid linked recently, but won't come cheap apparently, saw some silly figures thrown about for him.

Combative and good press resistance, given Marcos love of AP you could see him being an interest due to his playstyle being aggressive and closing down well.

Ex-sporting and Esporil interestingly - so some links there with our Manager and Assistant Manager.

If anything, another fun silly season link to thrown in with KDH and Luiz

Supposedly West Ham enquired and Southampton are quoting £40m to £50m!! Do really like the look of him but no way we are on that market if anywhere near that.
