Sell sell sell. Reinvest in a competent #8 and things will look much rosier

Yeah he looked really unhappy holding the scarf over his head after scoring the winner on Saturday. What's with the constant negativity man?

It's a question, it isn't negative

Brilliant agent work though... he even managed to get the Atlanta Chairmen to fly to London... if I could kick a ball, I'd want him as my agent!!  :slap:

Jovanovic bid apparently rejected. Fulham offered 250k €, Partizan think that's way too low.

That's only if you believe all the crap written on social media by so called journalists who think they know it all.

You see this is the sort of thing I absolutely do not understand lo-balling a club for.  Partizan would love the cash, we can comfortably quadruple that if the lad is a good prospect etc. We should just smash these deals as soon as we decide we want a player at this kind of cost.

Protracted negotiatons over tens of millions of pounds I absolutely understand, but when this sort of thing is peanunts (relatively) in comparison, it should be a straightforward question of 'how much do you want' and if Fulham agree, then they should simply press the button and say yes.

Especially as Serbian clubs are notorious for undervaluing their prospects. What we offered seems ridiculously low and I'm not surprised it was rejected.

Our arrogance is something else if there is any factual truth in that bid

Sorry Kent, if it was a question then surely it would end with a question mark rather than an explanation mark?

I do understand the negativity in a way but seems to be a constant theme!
Maybe it's Kent that does it - it's where my wife was born !!

Quote from: Somerset Fulham on August 19, 2025, 08:12:14 PMHow is 'the deal off' when there was never a 'deal' in the first place?

I honestly hate these [naughty word] stirring [naughty word] on Twitter that make a living out of pedalling this absolute toilet water 'journalism'.

I hate these swear filters too.  lol.

Totally agree, these twatter, X, Facebook, nobody, starter (want to make names for themselves), regurgitated sites, are a pain. They spam the same old nonsense as if they know anything about the club and dealings. They are totally about click baiting for advertising purposes.
Leeds supposedly offered £36m, so Fulham were meant to make a deal with some Italians for E36m instead. Total rubbish headlines.
At no point did Fulham state we were looking to sell the player or the player was unhappy. The boll*x that he had agreed personal terms and all that. All of it for click bait articles.

The amount suggests this is from the academy budget.

Mozzartsport is one of the most reliable sports media in Serbia (arguably even the most reliable). I think there's some truth in those rumours.

Just to give you a rough idea of what kind of offers Serbian teams accept, Lukic was sold for something like 1.5 million euros. Mitro, who won u19 Euro with Serbia and was given the player of the tournament award and also had senior caps already went for around 5 million euros. My point is, our clubs tend to sell whenever a semi-decent bid comes in. If we are truly interested in Jovanovic surely we can do better than 250k?

But can't we buy him for our first team and just let him play with our academy players? Or is there some rule preventing that?

We are all to blame for this . The world and his aunt decided ( ages ago ) that paid for journalism wasn't worth it . Readership data went out of the window and all that mattered was clicks. Suddenly it was as if Doris in Doncaster's views and opinions were as worthy and important as those of David Attenborough ! I vastly simplify of course and the media companies were as much to blame as the audience .
Facts and truth are now camouflaged by endless tweets and " influencers. "

There have always been good and bad journalists - I have certainly worked and managed both . However , there was at least a degree of accountability ( no matter how small ) but the world today is the real Wild West .
We can't go back but we shouldn't take some of the current output as " journalism " it simply isn't.

Apologies for the rant

Exactly and I'm gonna stick my neck out and say that by end of window Muniz would have signed a new bumper contract all will be rosy. For a while at least

Ridiculous by us, you can't buy an Arsenal or Chelsea women's player for that 🤔

Totally agree, that's also why some people try and create some kind of tier system for different journalists.

It beats me though that some people seem to respond to everything irrespective of the source, and use that as ragebait.

You're right though that it's the outcome of people deciding they didn't want to pay for journalism. Now journalists get rewarded for just generating traffic and adverts, also hence why Fabrizio will post dozens and dozens times with micro updates on one deal. Often the worst are sites like givemesport that will write any old thing, people continue to cite them despite basically never getting an original link right ever.

You can, but I doubt he is intended as a first team contender from the get go with that kind of opening bid.

I woulh have doubted that even if the bid was higher. He just hasn't played enough senior football yet. I don't get why, providing the link is real, we wouldn't offer more than that, like a million, million and a half. If we think he has potential, that is still peanuts, and wouldn't disrupt our budget.
