Exclusive: Fulham considering Coventry bid for Godo
Latest from Sky Sports News' Rob Dorsett:

Fulham are considering a bid from Coventry City for winger Martial Godo.

The 22-year-old Ivory Coast youth international made his Premier League debut just before Christmas, but was restricted to only two substitute appearances in the League last season.

He impressed on loan with Wigan in League One the previous season with 38 appearances, but is now keen for more regular first-team football.

Not fussed about this. He's 22, if he was good enough he'd have gotten way more 1st team gametime by now.

It's a good point. We're considering spending 40-50m on Kevin, who's the same age. think that says a lot.

King is 18, Ridgeon younger.. It shows what we expect and value perhaps for an age range.

He's been around the 1st team for a while, and really should've arguably kicked on more than he has - doesn't even have to be the finished player - and doesn't even mean he's not very talented/skillful etc... but when you see players breakthrough, it's usually by his age and because of ambition and hunger, and the willingness to learn enough to know they can stand out amongst pros.

More than likely L1 or Championship standard which is no shame. If the club can get a couple million for him with a sell on then they should jump on it. For his sake and the club's.

Ray is going to make up rumours until Oscar Bobb to Fulham is the only option left.

I'd be happy with Oscar Bobb, problem is that City wouldn't want to sell him.

I'd be happy with Lamine Yamal

Well plenty of players bloom later in their careers but often that blooming is facilitated by time in the lower leagues (Vardy being the poster boy but Wilson probably a more salient example)

Think the bottom line is Godo isn't good enough to break through now and is sellable to a degree. Let's hope he has a good career like plenty of ex-Fulham grads.

Meanwhile this is a transfer thread...

...hoping that we hear some substantial update on Kevin before the weekend.

Shakhtar play their conference game tonight, the manager very coy about Kevin's participation (suspect he might be on the bench). The return leg is on the 28th August so possible they won't release him until after that game if we agree to sign him. The Ukrainian league now has a break I believe.

Kevin was injured during a game 31st July , still out injured , meniscus injury - so 22 days injured ( so far )
If it wasn't for the medication I,d be chewing on your skin

Regarding Godo  didnt come through the Academy and will probably mature at a later age Watched him at Wigan he has good  quality worth being patient with.

Yes and the cavalry are in town this weekend . Will our very own John Wayne come in all guns blazing ? What will he do ? What will he say ?

Well clearly it won't be (to quote the great man )

" Tomorrow hopes we have learned something from yesterday. " as that ship has clearly sailed

But let's all hope he works out that

"A man's got to do what a man's got to do."

We need action - please stop firing blanks

His development was badly stunted by not going out on loan when he was supposed to. Had a spark about him, but needs gametime at this stage badly. If he goes on a permanent than no huge loss but id prefer he had a loan season to see how he gets on before pulling that trigger personally.

FFN suggesting we're interested in soler from PSG on another board.

Once highly rated but never really happened for him since joining ligue 1. Poor loan season at west ham last time out.

Not giving much credence to this one till reported widely but allegedly Silva very keen

Above 27, check. Had a poor couple of seasons and wasn't able to hack it in a big club, check. Has played in the PL, third check.

Welcome Carlos Soler, you tick all the boxes.

This feels similar to the Andre saga last summer.. it's exhausting how crap and slow we are with getting deals done. Highest form of incompetence after a while.

Shocking to not have signed a single outfield player, STILL!..

I'm getting bored of our transfer strategy under the Khan's, I'm not going to lie. Very frustrating.

It's only a matter of time that we announce someone who's older and has less sell value, like Berge vs Andre.

Blimey, if Carlos Soler ends up being one of our hype signings, I might well lose it. I thought he was exceptionally below average everytime I saw him for Westham.

Edit: Do yourself a favour and don't look at how awful his stats were for Westham last season as well......

Or read their forum. Literally replacing AP with an AP who doesn't work as hard. Supposedly Silva really wants him...what a surprise.  ::cry::

If after all this time this is who we sign in midfield I'm giving up. Nothing concrete/substantial however so hopefully a BS rumour.

Ugh....you know what we need to say, so I'll say it before someone like Alfie does (and he's right).....Trust the process. In Silva and the club we trust.......
