Godo needs to move on for his career. He's a fine young player overlooked by us. Should have covered for Wilson on the right.

I agree that the club didn't do a very good job of handling Godo. But the issue wasn't a lack of playing time for Fulham (he wasn't ready for it), the problem was having to keep him around for emergency cover because we didn't have an adequate number of wingers in the squad. He needed to be out on loan last season.

All transfers are of course pending a medical but no one credible wanting to commit to a done deal for either deal doesn't fill me with hope.

Either the players are keeping their options option open before fully committing or we are.

Lots of reports now saying Chukwueze is pretty much done too. Seems like both him and Kevin are happening (fingers crossed). Hopefully we can get that midfielder in and we're good to go, imo.

I reckon Stirling comes in as the other forward option to Jiminez & Muniz. He can also play in 10 role if required.
Nelson is looking more unlikely you would have thought it would have happened by now unless Fulham are waiting for The Arsenal to say give us £10m and his yours as it's unlikely he gets in there match day squad?
Hope we have a box to box type midfielder lined up as tend to think quite crucial. Need someone with a bit of technique and vision in our midfield.

If we buy 2 wingers + sterling it could be argued Iwobi becomes free to convert back to an 8 (his favoured position apparently)

No he didn't. Marco said we needed player in the offensive positions and if we sell Pereira we need a midfield too. I can find you a video of that.

Think you're conflating two things.

He in a few interviews prior to news Pereira may be off said we needed a midfielder, and insinuated we also needed two wingers and a striker (either to start or compete - making up for losing Nelson, Willian and Vinicius).. he said for most of the summer we needed a midfielder, then when Pereira was suggested to be leaving he said if he left then we'd need someone else in to replace him.

I think we'll just get 1 midfielder, I know Marco Silva said if Andreas leaves we'll need a replacement but I just don't see it happening to be honest. If we got Hayden Hackney I would be happy

He never said we needed two midfielders if we sold Pereira. The statement I mention is the latest statement Marco gave on the subject.

When he originally said we needed a midfielder, he didn't say we weren't selling anyone we currently have.

I agree with you. At most (although I very much doubt it would happen), I could see us get 4. With the 4th signing being a striker that's either in the mould of Dusan Jovanovic who we've been linked with(very young, unproven) or in the Vinicius mould(very experienced, emergency option in case Raul or Rodrigo get injured).
