With Wissa likely to move they require a winger, Nelson suits the bill nicely.
On a loan with an option, not obligation, to buy.
Brentford acting like a professional outfit!
I would have preferred Nelson to George. Cheaper and more proven.

Hang on Nelson was always injured and people didn't want him. We wanted a younger player. Now we want the injured player and not the youngster. Weird this football lark.
I would have preferred George if he was the same price as Nelson, or cheaper. The quoted price is ridiculous for someone with under 10 PL appearances and 1 goal.

Not necessarily. You pay more for youth and potential than you do for older injury prone players who've already reached their ceiling.
You're talking like Nelson is 35. He's still relatively young and should have his best years ahead of him.

Age isn't the only factor that comes in to place when deciding how much someone is worth. Sure Lamine Yamal is worth more than let's say Salah because he's younger. George however did nothing so far in his career to prove that he is worth more than 20 million, while Nelson has shown he can be a decent player in both PL and Bundesliga. At best, their value is roughly the same, no way is George worth 7-8 more million than han Nelson.

Rambler

Look it's 2 hrs to go. Even if he wanted to go to sporting I don't think he'll be able to fly over there and have the medical in time now.

General

Chukwueze is a Nigerian international? Will be off for AFCOn?

Seems dumb to let Wilson go if so.

He can have his medical elsewhere. Mitro had his medical in Belgium when he arrived to Fulham on loan.

Quote from: SerbianLad on September 01, 2025, 05:01:49 PMSo 2 hours left and no signings yet. I was one of the more optimistic posters here in regards to our transfer business this window, but I have to say, I'm getting quite worried now.

I know deal sheets exist, but:

a) do we always have to use deal sheets, why not sign someone earlier
b) as far as I understand you can only submit 2 deal sheets, meaning if we don't sign anyone in the next 2 hours, we can get 2 players in at most.

I think things will be toxic if it's just George in the door and everything else is consigned to the bin.

Kevin will be the biggest balls up of all time if that collapses.
Chukueze in the last window was bad enough, too late with paperwork!!!!

Nelson is available cheap because he's been out an insane amount with his hamstring

I really like him as a player when fit. But it's a fair and reasonable risk having spent half of last year injured

Add to this....we got 8m euros for godo...I suspect such things are linked

Still have Sess and for the time being Adama to play on the right wing also.

Chris Martin had his medical at some random university in Scotland I swear, and I remember the club giving them a shout out for doing it.

Yes, unfortunately, the fact that he can't travel to Portugal in time doesn't mean much.

Sgt Fulham

Not going to lie this is pretty hilarious. Soon we will all know.

Quote from: Deeping_white on September 01, 2025, 05:04:53 PMApparently the hold up with Kevin is the agent fees; his agent wants a bigger cut because that's what Sporting promised Will Sporting pay that amount of Transfer Fee or Wages?

So it's either pay up or eff off for this deal.

Let's be serious, sess is left footed and a LW, that'd be clutching at straws.

Marco plays him as an inverted right wing but whatever. Also have Iwobi and now George and also Castagne as a wing back. I think there is plenty of cover if Wilson leaves.

Plus their window closes at midnight.

Anyway I believe it is all a smoke screen and it will be announced later

as per FFN:

Kev's agent is demanding the same cut Sporting are offering him. Fulham currently unwilling.

IF true, they really are a leechy bunch ffs.

DadCreature

Why don't we try to sigh Josh Sargent?  He was linked to Burnley, so we should be able to compete.  He's quite young and a proven goal scorer.

Not 100% against him but wouldn't call him proven given he had one prem season and flopped in it.

We have all those players now and we have been playing Castagne as a right winger.
