Always thought he was more likely to make it that stansfield, was very decent at Northampton.

Quote from: LC on July 28, 2026, 03:12:26 PMJust done a quick google search, it seems Nico Paz singed for Como for €6m and Real Madrid had a 50% sell on fee (I think they bought 50% of his economic rights). They then bought him outright recently for €60m. Again this is just what I've found in Google I'm not 100% sure.

But presuming that's correct, I highly doubt we'll spend £30-40m + on Gonzalo Garcia and Real Madrid will have 50% sell on fee. I imagine it would be something like a big fee upfront with them retaining 20% sell on fee and right of first refusal. If they get a 50% sell on fee it will be because we only purchase him for a significantly smaller fee. In my mind that makes sense but who knows.

It would be pretty insane spend a large sum of our whole transfer budget to include 50% of profit later on.

Rumoured contract from online is 5m euros net too - so that seems insane.

He's good, clearly has talent but the reported fees kicking about are wild.

As I mentioned in another post, our club seem to do a lot of business behind closed doors and media outlets aren't always correct about us.

Yes, what I'm saying is based on other deals they have done I highly doubt it would be a big fee and 50%. If it's a big fee then the sell on fee percentage would likely be a lot lower with rights of first refusal. I agree, I don't think we should offer a big fee (something like £30-40m) plus 50% sell on, that wouldn't make sense and I highly doubt that's what's being discussed.

According to Jack Kelly tonight it looks like we're close to signing midfielder Cesar Palacios and a club record offer has been made for the striker Gonzalo Garcia,
With Real Madrid signing Diomande looks like players are finally being allowed to leave ,
Great news for us 👊🏻

isn't that James Justin, Jordan James was Birmingham wasn't he?

Nah Jordan James WAS at brum as a kid signed by Rennes young - had a meh season in Ligue as a teen, went on loan to Leicester last year with an option. Had a very good year it seems - but they got relegated so presumably player wasn't interested in the move, and or Liecester couldnt afford the fee with their financial woes.

James Justin was signed by leeds in 2025 from Liecester
Got it

So this lad was part of the team relegated to league 1, Christ good season or not for him it is a little worrying on paper

Why? Football is a team sport and he was the championship young player of the season so individually he was recognised as having a good year and that Leicester team had an awful defense
I can see what you are saying but that takes me back wo when we kept signing players if the season for their clubs as they had a decent season in an average team, like Ben Pringle, Richard Steadman etc.

Ream yes was Boltons, TC not so sure on but Jedi was after those wasnt he?

I just have nasty memories of those signings and they (other then Jedi) were not in teams that we relegated were they? But on paper this doesnt look a good signing in my opinion, but then I dont make them the club does :)

Coastwalker

Just been looking at the ins and outs on Sky for the Premier.
Ipswich made their 10th signing yesterday,Hull made 5 signings,on average rest of league have made at least 3 signings.
Think we really need to waken up here, and get cracking.

Though todays news says Diamonde deal may be hijacked by PSG who may be selling Barcola who gas verbally agreed a deal with Liverpool

Bronaldinho

Looks like the rumour mill is heating up now.

Nwaiwu, Jordan James, Cesar Palacios and Gonzalo Garcia.

Potentially 4 very good additions by reviews online.

Quote from: Coastwalker on July 29, 2026, 08:37:48 AMForest in for Liam Delap.

I'd like to see him here for the right price, he has the mobility and aggression needed to play in high press. Things just haven't worked out at Chelsea, but plenty of players looked better after leaving Chelsea.

Definitely TC and Ream, also Ryan Fredericks. That was the summer Rigg was in charge of transfers and it was probably our best in the Khan era proportionate to the money spent. Stearman got promoted with Sheffield United a couple of years later.

Bronaldinho

Some reports suggest Palacios is 8m euros.

Not bad fee given he got some sub appearances under Arbeloa last year.

Big step up though as majority of his football is for Castilla, 3rd tier of Spanish football, but his technical ability looks good from the snippets online. Big step up though.

Garcia had 1 season in the seniors, so his development is further ahead but still a big switch for both lads if they come.

Clearly talented, and with a coach that clearly believes in them both - it's a risk, but at the same time, it's different strategy with younger players and sometimes a change is needed. Arguably they wouldn't come here if AA wasn't in charge, so leverage the relationship to help build a foundation.

Fingers crossed for them both to be a success at Fulham.

Where would palacios play? CM or CAM? With king and ESR at CAM I would hope he's a CM which is where we need
