Viera doesn't seem like the kind of signing to bring us to another level beyond ESR and Pereira and he isn't a youngster anymore (same age as ESR) so he isn't really a signing for the future. Would make sense if AP is off, but I have trouble seeing the point otherwise.

ESR had 6 goals and 3 assists (compared to 4 goals and 4 assists in the league for Viera) for a Fulham that scored less in about the same amount of minutes and he is largely seen as having a disappointing season.

Yet another Arsenal reject, getting tedious now

Read in Metro this morning that Arsenal are interested in Palhinha, according to Bild.

On the subject of Arsenal surprised we are not linked with Xhaka? Oxlaide-Chamberlin looking to return to Premier league only 32?
Imagine a front line of Oxlaide-Chamberlin - Callum Wilson - Reiss Nelson

We'd certainly need a bulk order of Ralgex!

Yet another club that he's not suited to. Go to a team who doesn't dominate possession.

Callum Wilson? Are we linked to him?

Nice!  ::scarf::  ::scarf:: I don't think four years is a "long-term" contract though. Has the definition of long-term changed recently? I'm hoping he's signed a new contract because he's been promised some game time or starts this season.

Great news. Better than news of a new signing.

Id say anything over 3 years is a long term contract these days in football🤣 only Chelsea do these wild7 year + contracts for new transfers far as Ive noticed

Absolutely brilliant news regarding King though, essential to tie him down and i would think he will have been given some assurances around oppurtunities this year.

Think we'll bring in a CM rather than a CAM who can also play one of either deeper or more advanced roles if needs be (reitz/viera/luiz)

Fantastic news- there was some concern last season that we wouldn't keep hold of him.

I wonder if we can tie down young Seth or persuade him to stay.

So are Muniz contract discussions formally taking place? If so, any idea if we're close to a deal?

Is the tactic to renew contracts first before bringing new players?

I remember us signing or renewing players previously for 3-4 years without saying it was "long-term" so I think it have changed recently  :slap:

Bakayoko has now signed for Leipzig after being on the verge to sign for Brentford, Forest and Bournemouth on here in reference to our lack of movement. Not just us that get rumours that go nowhere.

irish_mike

Up to the player to prove himself now. Did nothing last season.

Fair play to the club for getting him extended
