Quote from: SerbianLad on August 25, 2024, 05:38:13 PMI really like Tsygankov but I thinkt that one is even more unrealistic than Chiesa or Depay. Why would he leave Girona when they are going to be playing in the CL and he will be a starter?

Wages? Reportedly on 20k/week. We could triple that without any trouble.

PL football and living in London also big plus points

SerbianLad

Girona is owned by City Football group. I'm sure they could offer him big wages as well. Girona also already lost Dovbyk and Savinho, not sure they'd want to lose the third starter in attack. I'm not saying it's completely impossible, but I just can't see it.

Are we actually in for Begwijn or is all the chatter on here based on a twitter comment?

He was certainly at ground as many have reported, the rest is purely conjecture. He's friend's with Kenny so might be just there for that reason.

Someone said there were links to Leicester before the game anyway so perhaps he was actually there for them?

I don't think they have a choice, I remember reading on here that he has a release clause in his contract. I just did a quick Google search and there seems to be a few articles out there suggesting a release clause, see here: https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1922963/man-utd-transfer-news-tsygankov-antony/amp

Obviously no idea if it's true of not but if he does have a release clause then I guess it's up to the player

Napoli apparently buying McTominay (€30m with a sell-on). Will pair with Anguissa.

Funny how things go sometimes

He will definitely have a release clause. Spanish law requires it. That's why all the Madrid and Barca players have 1 billion release clauses. 30m is reasonable I suppose but I've been watching him against Atletico right now and he hasn't really been that impressive.

interesting stuff from ESRs agent

Seems there were multiple clubs interested both in the prem and in europe, likely our ability to offer gametime and being a good london club playing the right way played out for us well.

Interesting stuff about financing in there and the complexity and many levels of a transfer.

So glad we got Emile, hope he goes on to be a top top talent here

They have agreement between the clubs but McT has always said that he wants to stay at United - that is why we gave up on him.
It could be better, but it's not a fantasy:

Forest lining up an old target of ours Santiago Giminez whos been tearing it up in the eredivise for a couple years.

Looks a decent signing there albeit not cheap. What a mad amount of money theyve spent to be mostly well below average the last couple years, interesting to see if all this spending ever pays off

Also, aren't they part of the Man City group?

Meaning as a club they're getting more competitive in Spain and presumably constantly on the up, but also if he does as well as he seems to over an extended period (a goal contribution every 2 games), surely he'd just be fast tracked to city if they wanted him..

Who knows.

Doesn't give away a huge amount aside from what you mentioned, a very cautious and diplomatic set of answers.

I thought the questions and knowledge from the SSN team seemed pretty poor too, little insights from them it seems on transfers.. some commentators mentioned a distinct lack of professional quality when compared to the olden days when it came to presenters knowledge but also the fact it was genuine and insightful to a degree that it hasn't been for a while.. lamenting getting ex footballers and youtube jo publics on instead of professional insiders with the knowledge, of let's say a professional agent at the top of the game.

The one thing I'd pick up on that may seem particularly relevant was the mention of forward financing, say income from matchday receipts being £100m and getting funding in on those guarantees for years in advance to fund transfer spending.

I'm wondering how our finances, and in particular the way we've structured the Riverside prices enable us in this regards, especially the fact the ticket prices now for that stand are very high, in particular the 3k seasons, which represented a significant jump in cost but potential revenue too.

But all being said, glad he's with us and ESR seems to have settled in well and looks happy. Long may it continue.

I have seen a lot of Fey the last few years, i go to watch with my dads best friends (they are from Rotterdam) son. He is a good player at the level he is at, Mexican international too. Under Slot he was vital to their style, I have not seen them this season yet. A year ago Fey wanted 70 million euros for him, think Arsenal were looking at him then too.

Problem with the Dutch league is it isnt as competitive or at the Standard the premier league is, could he adapt possibly / probably but i do not think he would score the amount of goals he has previously over here.

Forest are spending crazy money though for sure.

Nottingham Forest apparently have made a bid to sign Andreas Pereira, what they are not aware of is that Pereira is Silva's favorite player, so yeah, basically wasting their time.

The Cravenette

Forest must have a squad rivalling the blue poo in size.

Lol
Cos thats what periera needs to further his career and dream of playing in Europe and staying in the Brazil squad 😂

Things we need:

- A 2nd/3rd choice keeper
- A CF (ideally - I really don't understand why we are so keen to get a wide player, we have plenty)

Things we might go for:

- A couple of loans to pad the squad a bit (ours is strong enough I think, though smaller than many)

Things we should consider:

- Allowing Reed to leave so he can play more than 5 minute cameos, cup games and fill in when other CMs are suspended. He could create £15m of budget for us. Celtic have some money rn...

Things we should do:

- Cut Vinicius and Mbabu. They aren't getting any game time, except in the most extreme circumstances.

I think we'll wait till deadline day to bring this winger in, see who becomes available late on. I've got a feeling we could get Gnoto if we can get him for around £20mil
