Interesting rumour, had never heard of him. His stats aren't immediately eye catching - but like the fact that Marco has requested him. If true of course.

It would be great if we weren't chasing players who probably don't speak English or Portuguese very well to replace a player who is chasing the starter striker position. That's another hurdle to overcome and we can't rely on a 34 year old to start every game.

Edit: I'm a dummy, Palmeiras is Brazilian so probably speak some Portuguese.

Brazil is fairly low scoring. Top scorer last season when he was first choice bagged 15 goals and Lopez scored 10. Igor Jesus who Forest signed and has been called up to the national team scored 5.

I'm only interested on what he has to say about Muniz. If he's suddenly unavailable, then I think that gives us a more rounded picture on what's actually happening with Muniz.

Like who? Patrick Roberts maybe, although he's not exactly disappeared. Carvalho's struggling but still a Premier League player

Atalanta will be looking for a decent profit margin when they eventually come to sell him, so they obviously value him higher. How much higher is anyone's guess 🤷�♂️

"It's not an ideal scenario. You used the word 'quiet' - I have to say we've been too passive. If you asked me if I expected it, I'd say of course not. But it is what it is, it's the market.

"It's important we didn't get injuries during pre-season because, in some positions, we are very short on numbers. We want to at least have a squad and players on the bench to play a Premier League game and meet the demands the league asks of you.

"As a manager you always want to improve your squad, it's not the ideal scenario we are in, we have been too passive.

I was more referring to young players who are on our books who people tout for bigger and better things but for whatever reason don't fulfill the potential people think they have. Personally I don't see Muniz as being this £50-60m striker. He went to Middlesbro and hardly set the world alight, he has had some good moments when he has come on and scored against top Prem teams but Marco chose to play a striker 10 years older than him as first choice if Muniz has so much potential you get him playing as a starter and give him the minutes to see if he has that potential. Maybe has has but if the club are willing to let him go then maybe he doesn't fit Marco's plans.

It's basically the same patter we hear every transfer window. Nothing to see here. One thing I will say though, is while we are consistent in being passive and slow, some clubs, e.g. Liverpool, have been impressively proactive and just get deals done quickly and decisively. There are obviously reasons that players want to join Liverpool, plus they have a big transfer budget and so deals get done quite quickly, but one thing we shouldn't ignore, is how many people they probably have working on transfers. It's a time-consuming process, and I just think our recruitment department is far too small for this level to get business done effectively. While our rivals will be working on multiple deals, we're seemingly incapable of investigating and negotiating more than one deal at a time.

I have heard him say in previous years we aim for 2 senior players in each position. We have that in every position.

I am upset that we have not pushed on this window and strengthened but I wouldn't say we are in crisis mode or short on players. Having said that I would like to see us get a new 8 (Upgrade on Reed), Kevin, Nelson and Taremi (+Another striker if Muniz goes) then I will consider the window a success

It seems like Marco has done everything he can, has identified the players, the positions he wants to recruit in, he's said that he wants them in earlier (and has done for a number of seasons).

This situation is completely down to the board then it seems and TK/SK and Ali Mac.

Muniz has had an offer for him, but it doesn't mean Marco wants to sell or that we need to - we have good offers every summer for our players.
